November 26th, 2011Jarlyn threw the ceremonial dagger with the evil symbol overboard.
Perrol and Jarlyn go and get the first mate to get the money. The first mate visits the Captain’s room and two other officers’ rooms. He wants privacy while he searches the rooms. We agree. In each room he comes back with one or two bags of coins and gives them to us.
RM 1 - 3 diamonds, 4 pearls, 10 gp

The pirate captain is in a room already. We search the room and the captain and find nothing except that the captain’s belt can be used as a garrote. Also, I see that the man guarding the captain has a magic brain!!! I am very curious but hold off for now saying anything.
We go get the enlisted man and search him and take away a small whittling knife and put him in the room.
We get the evil officer and search him and take away a poorly concealed shiv and put him in the room.
I try to ask the guard about his magic brain by asking him if he had a head injury and he says no and wants to know why. I say I am just doing a general medical evaluation.
The pirate ship is set loose and heads away. They are heading in the direction that we would likely be going, which is the Tornathian league. Tornath is known for its fishing. It’s a plutocracy. Sarreshar, is known for fishing, farming, crafts and mostly for their wines.
The repair of the ship is completed and we make for Sarreshar.
I hear singing and use my magic (music) power to know that the singing does sound like it magic related somehow. We interrogate the captain and learn that he is controlling the other people in the room. We interrogate the evil officer and he says he feels that he is not being controlled now. We bind and gag the captain and bind the other two and keep the door open so we can watch them.
Kross is on watch. The same seaman that I asked about his brain approached Kross then tried to hit him with a belaying pin and missed.
SEGMENT 12!
I stab the crewman and he seems to snap out of whatever was driving him. I do magesight on him and see no glow. I do magesight in the room and see that the evil crewman’s brain is glowing but it is somewhat faint and slowly fading.
We have some discussion about what to do with the captain. I think he is a threat and should be killed. Jarlyn prays to the skyfather and then says the same thing. Ghoral kills him then takes him up on deck, cuts his head off and throws him overboard. A “good ship” crewman sees this and alerts the captain who comes and questions us. I tell him that the evil captain was controlling the minds of HIS crew and was completely evil and had to die. I tell the crewman to tell his captain how he was being controlled. He does. I roll a very good charm and the captain accepts this.
