The Loot List

Here is the loot that I noted from my notes (so far) from our time in the underground:

  • 1 (we have) + 19 Scrolls (hidden)

  • 20 diamonds (~1000 gp) uncut
  • 6 rubys and 4 emeralds (~300 gp) uncut
  • 40 pelts (~800 gp)

The list does not include the off items that were taken for some individual characters.

July 13 - 15

Underground Temple /
Travel back to Tietha

Character and players in the game tonight:
Glaive (Janielle), Ghoral (Bill), Jarlyn (Dennis), Perrol (Bob) and Kross (Heath)

* Segement 1
Ghoral notices that with the tubes cut, the person on the wall is still alive.

* Segement 3
The Shade laftes as he attact Perrol. He is cowed with his DCV set down to Zero and goes down with some damage. Is Dazed.
Glaive attacks the tubes and slices thru them.

* Segement 4
Perrol recoves from being dazed.
Kross did attack with a called shot to the head (of the creature on the wall), choping it off, killing the creature.
The Shade screached and the gem above has dimed.
Ghoral attacked and killed the creature on another wall.
The Shade screached (again), went a little more fuzzy and the gem above has dimed (again).

* Segement 6
The Shade comes up behind Kross (without notice) and attacked with 10 stun and 5 body.
Glaive attacked and killed the creature on another wall.
The Shade screached (again), went a little more fuzzy and the gem above has dimed (again).

* Segement 8
Perrolwill stand up and head to the back of the room and cower there.
Kross did attack with a called shot to the head (of the creature on the wall), choping it off, killing the creature.
The Shade screached (again), went a little more fuzzy and the gem above has dimed (again).
Jarlyn did attack with a called shot to the head (of the creature in the center), choping it off, killing the creature.
The Shade screached (again), fades out all together and the gem above has dimed to a clear gem.

Battle over.

Perrol did a detect magic and find the magic fading from the gem and the fludies on the floor and the tubes.
Ghoral is able to get the now clear gem, down from the ceiling. It is not a gem type that is known.

We head over to the next room.
The room is shaped like the other ones. It has two 9 foot tables and four work benches.
Will see tools, parts, glassware and glassware about the room.
Perrol will open a scoll and look over it. It is in a unknown language. Perrol gets a headache. He states that the drawing are of the trap that we have run across here.
We are talking over what to do with the 20 scolls. Jarlyn will take the basic scroll and we will come back to hide the 19 other scrolls.

We now head over the room in the center. We listen to the door and not hear anything. Perror opens the door. We see a lit room with piles of stuff. Bones, primative weapons, glittering rocks (ore, silver) and necklaces.
The silver ore pile is work 500 gp and is about 200 lbs.

We go back to the room that had the map with minatures. The five minaturesthat were standing around a hexogal building, but now they are down. The could have repesentive of the rooms we went thru earlier.

With Perrol’shelp, we finda place away from the undergroundtemple to safely hide the scrolls that we had found.

 One day has passed when two guys walk out of the woods. The are tall and big. As they get closer, we notice they are Chad and Bob. They are walk andlooking aroundas they head to us. They say they are following the signal of the stake. They knew we were going to find the temple. Says they over heard that we were going. They have a intrest in the evil religne not getting a foothold. Chad says that the tablets that Perrolshould be destroyed. We brought up the scrolls that we found, they were surprised with it and had not seen some of the things that were on it.

They ask for a tour of what we found out below. We look over the Stalagmites room. We goto the Hall of the Acolytes with the frozen parties of people in it. They say that these people are alive in a frozen state. Next we got the Chieftain’s Hall, they look over the destruction. Bob will look to Chad, Chad says he will take care of this. Will go over to the Priest’s Chambers. Chad says he will take care of this one too. Says the bodies that were changed and set up as traps need to be destroyed. The world not ready for it and could unbalance it. We next head over to the Initiation Chambers, then thru the secret passage into the Shrine and the Mechanism Room. Chad says that he will also take care of this. We show then the other chambers. Perrol will tell Bob about the shock from the rod. Asked to show him, but Perrol decline, so Bob uses the rod and tries it himself and gets a shock with no damage.

Will show the runes to them and say that they call any Rock Snakes in the area to this area. Luckily most the Rocks Snakes had been killed off over time.

Chad had held back to take care of the things that need to hidden/destroyed, so no one will find it. Perrol held back with him. Perrol saw Chad take the bodies from the Priest’s Chambers and Chieftain’s Hall and push them into stone. Chad had forgotten the technology and run to get rid of them. Chad runs and ends up running thru a solid wall.

 The book that was a primer for the language that was found on the tablet (like translating it to Latin).

We are heading back to town.

We set watches for the night. On the 2nd watch, some loud rustling is heard. Jarlyn gets the group up and find out its a youngish mage (looks to be only recently out of his apprenticeship) with 3 guards. The mage says that he was sent from the main magecamp several miles from here. When they detected the crystal in the camera device, they sent him out to investigate. He would like us to meet them the next morning to talk about what we found. We say that we can meet them on the trail in the morning as they head toward the site and we head away from it.

Their group left shorly after our group and was held up in a town in the area wait for the signal. There are about 20 in the group and are about 3 miles for the the underground temple.

The next day we meet up with the Mages on their way to the site. We lay out the stuff from the temple. They look over the gems andtell them where we foundit. With the furs, we tell them were found, they took 10 pelts for “historical” significance of the 50 we had. With the tools are looked at and drooled over. We keep the ones we had and Kross will state there were some other like tools there. Kross will had over the crystal camera and head out for the trip back to Tietha.

July 13

Underground Temple

We hear a metal on metal sound. Another metal creature is spoted.

The battle begins. Segment 12.

Perrol will move back.
The metal creature shoots a orange ray at Ghoral and misses.
Kross will go into Dadge mode and put the +1 into DCV.
Ghoral will move and put away his ax.
Glaive will do a half move into the path of the door.

* Segment 4
Perrol will be dodging.
Kross will go into Dodge mode and put the +1 into DCV.
The metal creature uses its arms to lift itself off the track and shoots a orange ray at Glaive and misses.
Ghoral will pull out a dagger and wait.

Glaive will go into Dodge mode.

* Segment 8
Perrol will go into Dodge mode.
Kross will go into Dodge mode and put the +1 into DCV.
Jarlyn will move up and miss the attack.
Ghoral will dive under the metal creature and miss the attack.

The metal creature attacked Ghoral and stuning him.

Glaive will attack and hit one for some damage.

* Segment 8
Perrol will jump on the alter and use the Block Combat Maneuver for Ghoral .
The metal creature will raise both hands.
Kross will use the Block Combat Maneuver for Ghoral.
Jarlyn will attack the metal creature for some damage.

Glaive will attack and hit twice for some damage.
Both Kross and Perrol will both miss the Block.
The metal creature hits Ghoral and took a lot of stun.
Glaive yells out that Ghoral has been knocked out.

* Segment 12
Kross will Abort to Dodge and put the +1 into DCV.
The metal creature will pull both hands back.
Jarlyn will start a haymaker.
Glaive will dodge.

* Segment 1
Perrol could not Block from the metal creature attack on Glaive, but the attack missed.

* Segment 4
Perrol was able to drag Ghoral out from under the metal creature.
Kross will Abort to Dodge and put the +1 into DCV.
The metal creature will miss the sweep on Kross.
Jarlyn will will hit. Sparks will come out it.

* Segment 6
Glaive will attack and hit twice for major damage. Her arm goes thru the armor and the creature powers down.

Battle Over.

A healing potion is forced down Ghoral and given some time does come around.

We are looking around, everything is covered in copper. Find a door in the first round room, in the center pentagram shaped room. There are two holes, chest high. Perrol is able to open the door. We see a  pentagram shaped room with a table with 5 chairs with a diaroma of a city (made of stone) with building and 5 small rock people (that look like the aliens). Most of the building look to be 7 stores tall.

Perrol did touch one of the 5 stones and pulled back from it after a few seconds saying there was some kind of presents in them.

We leave the room and look off to the right.

We find another round room with a pentagram shaped room with a door. We open the door to find 4 benches (2 left and 2 right) and a round alter in front of the alter. On the 5 walls are painted with demonic creatures (in the center of the wall), which look like they are comming out of the wall with the head done in stone. Perrol and Jarlyn are looking around. Glaive and Ghoral are in the room in the back and Kross in outside by the door.

Kross will notice that the first room we went to did close after about 5 min.

We continue counter-clockwise to the next round room with a pentagram shaped room with a door. Perrol will open the door and shouts out, “Zombies!”. He sees a zombie in a chair in the center of the room as well as four others along the walls. Each of them is restrained with copper bands and has five clear tubes leading into it. Contained in individual tubes is a blue, yellow, brown, blue-green liquid and a grayish vapor. In the ceiling there is a black gem containing five lights that start to circle one another. They merge together and then shoot out of the gem with each one touching a head of one of the zombies before returning to the gem. Then a black mist seeps from the gem and ends up coalescing into a figure shaped like the zombies. By the by, the zombies appear to resemble more the tall-headed figures than the blue humanoids. There is magic everywhere. Each of the zombies have some emanations of evil but the black figure is a concentration of evil.  To try to get the door down, Perrol use his rapier into the botton slot and the piece of the metal creature into the second slot. There is a loud crack and lighting goes around his shield. He stops and pulls out the rapior with the tip blackened and smoking. Other than that, he is not damaged.

A battle begins. Segment 12.

Perrol moves into the room to attack the tubes on the  first body on the right.
The Shadow Creature moved over to Perrol and drains him and a sudden darkness appears. Kross and Glaive are just outside of it.
Kross will move into the room off to the left body, attacks and hit the toobs in the body (in the darkness).
Jarlyn cast a holy light, that lights up the area.
Ghoral move into the room and tried to attack the Shadow Creaure and his weapon goes right thru it.
Glaive will move thru the room and head for the second body on the left.

The game ends for the night.

July 13

Underground Temple

Character and players in the game tonight:
Glaive (Janielle), Ghoral (Bill), Jarlyn (Dennis), Perrol (Bob) and Kross (Heath)

We are looking around the curved area for hidden passages.

Ghoral finds a hole in the top on the left 2nd booth. Glaive uses her Rapier and inserts it into the hole. Gears are grinding. A blast of  warm air comes out. The wall of the booth opens up and a curved passage is seen. As we head down the passage, we see a squar room with a silver metal alter. There is a bobyon the alter. Behind the alter is a door with a metal smooth door with 2 holes on eatherside about 4 foot round (a braiser).

We all move into the room. We have a look at the body on the alter. He looks like the necromancer’s son. Looks like the knife that is in the chest of the body could have been self inflicted. Two pieces of paper are found off to the side of the alter. One is of a rought drawing of the outside area and dig sites. (Kross will update his map.) The other piece of paper has the rune writting on it with translation under it.

His first servants long buried,
Those missionaries of his will,
Again they sleep and again they wait.

Fire, smoke, and steam make the call,
Where fresh blood the faithful offer,
For the true words of the first.

We hear grinding stone (the far passage). After a few minutes the is a closer, we hear some more grinding. The door to the room closes. There is a set of stares going up (off to the left of the passage to the room). We follow the stares up. We see a columns made up of  large copper bands with pipes comming out of the bands going in the direction of the 5 booths. Above we see a 3 by 2 sized door above what we definded as evil. We lift Ghoral up to the door, which he opens. It looks like steampunk threw up in it.

Jarlyn is beating the hell out of it. The blue light dims and goes out. We head back dow the stares, we notice a button. It is pushed and the closed passage opens.

We are now looking on how to open the metal door. The braiser will be filled with the wood from the weapons. The copper pipe is filled with water. Over time steam is rising. After 10 min the door slides open.

We see on the other side, we see a round room all in metal. Will see a 4 in grove in the floor. It is said that there is sounds of a clank (metal on metal). It is spoted, 5 ft w 3 ft long 3 ft tall, steel and copper box on wheels with a rods on the left/right and 2 metals arms located in the front. In the front of the device in the left and right corner are a blue stone and in the center is a orange stone. 

Battle Start.

Kross not seeing it will move off to the side and dodge (+6 to DCV).

Glaive is holding her action.

* Segment 4
Perrol and Jarlyn both miss the attack.
Glaive hits with a solid hit.

Underground Temple

The head lifts up and the right hand glenches closes.

Battle Start

* Segment 12
Kross is holding, for now.
The wall near the wired curtain falls down. Perrol dives back next to Kross. Jarlyn and Ghoral are not able to move away. Taking minimun damage.
Kross is going to activaly dodging.
Jarlyn is going thru the wired curtain, into the room.
Glaive moves up a little.

* Round 1 / Segment 3
The creature goes up another 10ft and is up near the top of the room (20 ft up). Attacks and misses Jarlyn.

* Segment 4
Kross will put away his sword and got out his bow and strung it.
Jarlyn will head over to the right and take a swing at it with a little damage (with mace).
Ghoral (with his ax) swing and slice off most of the curtain off.
Glaive will move ove to the left and ready a attack.
Perrol will move foward and attack with his throwing knives. Solid hit with no damage.

* Segment 6
Glaive will attack the wires as the go into the wall. Snaps 3 wires.
Glaive will attack the wires as the go into the wall. Snaps rest of the wires. the left hand goes limp.
The creature falls back (wires and all) to the rear left. His left foot twitchs and darts come out of the far wall.
Perrol dodged the darts.

* Segment 8
Kross attacked with his bow (rolled a 18), missed, the string snapped blinding himself for the next round.
Jarlyn snapped the strings on the right, which drops the creature to the ground.
Ghoral moves up towards the creature.

* Segment 9
Glaive moves up.
The creature’s right foot moves and BOOM. There a flight of light. Kross is blind till Segment 1 of the next turn.

Segment 12
Glave with attack twice with a damaging hits.
The left foot wiggles again and darts come out the right side of the wall.
Kross aborted to dodge the darts, got hit and tood no damage.

* Round 2 / Segment 3
Ghoral attacks and misses.
Glave with attack twice with doing  a little damage.
The creature attacks Glave, taking 1 body hit.

* Segment 4
Perrol will attack the creature doing little damage.
Ghoral finishs off the creature with a great hit, spliting the creature in half (from the vitals up). Wire snaping and green ooze flowing all over.

Battle Over.

Cave painting on the back wall:

On the back wall is a full wall painting going East to West. First is a wild spray of multi-colored pigments; small and round and either red, green, yellow, or blue. Next to that is a simple black square. Next to that is a blue humanoid kneeling to one side of small white square with a red smear. Around the white square are 5 figures like the ones in the big chamber; oval faces and long fingers. The five figures stand in line and to each side of them are tear drop shaped orange pigments.

Jarlyn has a idea that EVIL in ahead, but 10 to 15 feet ahead and 30 ft up.

There are 5 doors on this curved hallway. The doors have the same symbol that the rock had. We each take a door and open them at basicly the same time. We find a small room with a sheet of ice on the walls  and behind the ice (1/2 inch thick), small holes can be seen. We compair notes and the only differance are the number of holes (30 - 35).

Perrol says he will go into the room and lock/activate it. A few seconds he comes back. Says the holes show the colors lights, like from the painting. He had a vision. Wanted to turn him evil.  From Perrol point of view:

I see colored lights coming from the holes.  Then I see a vision of myself in front of a white alter and I am sacrificing humanoids.  I sense a power trying to convince me that this is all ok to be doing this.

Ghoral and Jarlyn will damage one of the arcoves, finding color qourts in the solid stones.

A cold wind blows.

July 12 - 13

Underground Temple

Character and players in the game tonight:
Glaive (Janielle), Ghoral (Bill), Jarlyn (Dennis), Perrol (Bob) and Kross (Heath)

We will be heading outside, where the well entrance are.

Kross climbs up and then gets the others up using the winch.

Ghoral and Jarlyn will investigate the other two wells and find nothing.

Jarlyn find out the runes are a type of summoning (ie the Rock Snakes), if and when the ward is broken.
(note: at one time there used to lots of Rock Snakes, but over time they have been killed off.)

We rest for the next day and Perrol will take his last potion (heal up to full). Kross will give Perrol one of the potion from Kross’ backpack.

We head back down, we see cave painting on both walls with the stick figures shone mainly in blue at war. At the far end we see more painting in greater detail. They depict the blue figure bowing down to figures that have elongated heads and fingers. Will also see a painting of a blue figure in a sitting position with yellow wavy lines showing around his head

We go thur the arch and see a 4 way intersection with some small columns. A small pyramid covered in ice with someone one/thing on top. Will also see a passage on the otherside of the passage, right ahead.

Perrol can see that the top of the skull is showing some magic.

To the left and right and see long hallways. Perrol steped into the room, he says something is in his mind. Jarlyn states that mind magic needs line of sight.

Battle start.

* Segment 12.
Kross will use a blunt arrow and hit for 18 stun and 6 body for solid hit.
Kross will feel a wash and a felt a tingle. Told the others what happened.
Ghoral will rush up to the small pyramid. He see a skeleton set in a throne (by spikes), set in the pyramid with eyses glowing orange.

* Round 1 / Segment 2
Glaive moves into the hallway.

* Segment 3
The skull’s head clicks as it moves. Froms its eye, these orange bults come out out of its eyes and miss him.

* Segment 4
Perrol moves off to the right hallway.
Kross will drop the bow, draw the sword and do a half move.
Glaive moved up towards the trouble.

* Segment 6
Glaiveget a good look at the skeleton on the throne. Gets 2 great hits. She yells that the bottom skull of the steps looks odd and that the skeleton has 2 glowing swiring green fangs.
Ghoral will be hit with the orange eye beams from skeleton.

* Segment 7
Perrol will move towards the skeleton.

* Segment 8
Perrol will finish his move and attact the skeleton.
Kross will half move and dodge.
Ghoral gets a solid hit. Bones shadder and a flame columns shoot up for a good 20 second.

Battle over.

Find out that the sound of chanting are comming from the columns. We all step back.

This was not something undead.

Jarlyn will detect evil from behind the throne. We can see 2 cave type area. On the right we see a bunch of belts with 4 frozen blue covered small humanoid. Glaive, Ghoral and Jarlyn will make quick work of the prone frozen small humanoid, killing them. 6 rubie 4 emaralds were found.

Look over the pelts and find out that they are from extinct species. Ghoral sees dollar signs. Ghoral will work on getting the pelts.

We pile the stuff near the entrance, so it is out of the way and we are not carrying it around.

We head off to the right finding frozen men & wemen in each archove laying down with their feed towards the door. (like Giant ice cubes.) 

We head off to the left, finding a T shaped passage. With a frozen beaded curtain to the right and a curved area with a door in it.
The curtain is pushed to the side and Jarlyn will look inside. (He will tell what he sees and what happens.)

In center of chamber about 10 ft up is a humanoid spread eagle, face down, no ice. It is pale skin, greenish/grey palor, lines of dark green in the veins. From each outstretch finger and toes extends  slender wires going into small holes in the wall. A single wall goes from the head to the ceiling. A scene is painted across the opposite wall.

The game end for the night with the strands of the door curtain starting to attack Jarlyn.

A rock and a ice place.

July 12

Underground Temple

Character and players in the game tonight:
Glaive (Janielle), Ghoral (Bill), Jarlyn (Dennis), Perrol (Bob) and Kross (Heath)

At the 2nd ramp, the other horses got spooked. Kross’s horse was at the rear did not till he got on the 2nd ramp. Kross will dismount and lead him up the ramp towards the wells.

Jarlyn had looked down the well, droped a rock down it and noticed movement. Jarlyn says there a Rock Snake comming up. Its up.

Segment 12 (Battle 1)
Kross will have is horse fall back and will get a good look at the Rock Snake. Its a large (50 ft) snake with scales that look like stone and acts like armor.
The snake got a hit on Jarlyn, but Ghoral got a great hit that make the snake look unsteady.

* Round 1 - Segment 3
Glaive will mis the attack.

* Segment 4
Perrol will attack and make a head shot killing it.

A turn later a Rock Snake in well number 2 and 3.

Segment 12 (Battle 2)
We are moving off to the right towards well #2.
Rock Snake #2 missed the attack on Ghoral.
Rock Snake #3 shot out of well #3 and moved thru the party (not Kross) missing its attack.

* Round 1 - Segment 3

RS#2 missed their attack (to coil around the attacker).
RS#3 will open its eyes.
Ghoral will attack for a solid hit, killing it.

* Segment 9
Glaive will attack (RS#2) doing a solid hit.

Glaive will attack (RS#2) doing another solid hit.
Kross will attack (RS#2) doing some damage, killing it.

Battle Over.

Perrol will go over to Well #2 and look down. 25 ft down a rounded out area and can not see the sides.

Looking to go down thru one of the Wells. Looking down Well #3, Perrol will see part of a table and some tools.
Perrol and Ghoral will down into the Well #3. The area is is bell shape with a partial uncovered portal with writing on the arch.

We all get down to the bottom.

On the table there are some ink stanes on the table. Can not tell anything about the ink.

Perrol can see on the arch there are some runes that are glowing with magic. Kross will record the area.

The passage is 13 ft W 6.5 T

The marching order is Jarlyn and Ghoral (leading), Glaive and Perrol (in the middle), with Kross covering the rear.

In front of us we see a few steps going down, 3 pillors on the right and left. We can see the left and right wall, but can not see the ceiling or the far end of the chamber. There is ice covering the steps and the ground ahead. There is lot of magic/evil noted ahead. 12 of them spread out from what can be seen

Kross will light his torch and carry it in off hand.

From the steps, we see 6 ft crystal with a 5 ft creature (from detect magic/evil) in it. So far we see 2 to the left and right. Kross will record the crystal/creature. Kross will knotice that the torch has melted the frost around him. Ghoral will walk into the room and look up at the magic and see frost covered metal pipe. Ghoral will come back, look at one of the encased creatures and slips into the creature cracking it and a spiderweb of cracks from it. It is said that they are waiking up.
