(Kross has recovered and is back to normal.)

There is  a knock on the door, “Is everything alright?”. We confirm that it is.

The night passes with out issue.

We head down stares for our morning food. After we eat, we head out to the temple district.

We were just about there when Perrol takes a arrow/bolt from the rear and goes down taking 42 stun.

With Perrol down, Kross will head towards a alley and up to the roof to have a look around.

Looking around and not seeing where the shot came from.

The area looks clear, no sign of the attacker. <This was a hit and run attack.>

Battle Over

The bolt is picked up for later reference. (Later at the potion shop.)

We head to the temple of Aladan and find out the following:

They are refered to as Guild Masters. Yanna has the contacts, both the legal and the illegal ones. There are second ring of lieutenant, mainly in local city as a contact for that area. The four are the public faces of the group. The teleporting could be item based.

We head to the Temple of Varidon and find out the following from Coriries Gellantara:

Valmarrellian, consider a master of sorcery (mind control/illusions). There are item that would protect vs sorcery.

Will be sent word of a meeting to meet with a person that sell item that would protect vs sorcery.

With that done, we head over the potions shop for Jarlyn to pick one up. Due to price (and the reason for the price increase), he does not buy it, but Perrol and Ghoral each buy one. Perrol also asks if he can have the bolt analyzed to determine what the ichor is and if there is a possible antedote. It cost 5 sp to have done.

We head to wizard academy to find what the research team found.

Aaron is not currently avail and will do be avail till tomorrow morning.

We head back to the Inn and find a dinner invation for tonight at the palace. We get dressed up and bring small weapons. Kross was able to tell that we are being tailed by one of Julienne’s people. We get to the gates with no problems. We get two privates to escort us to the palace. We go thru the service entrance to bypass the nondowells. . . .  nice dinner, others are also being honored.

Kross is gifted with:
4 x Arrow - Bolts of Blasting - Once a day the arrow will explode on impact. Area effect fire damage. (Can be retrived and reused)

Search, Spot and Deal with the issue.

Character and players in the game tonight:

The Regent Mother is still not awake. Perrol offers a healing potion. The guards are looking uneasy with their Captain dead. The potion is given to the Regent Mother. The scar is still there and is now showing to be asleep now.

The others are checking area for signs of Evil and Magic.

Perrol is at the bookshelf pulling some book off a bookshelf, finding a button.

The Captain’s body is take away by a honor guard.

Regent Mother is sturing. She has a mild concusion and can be moved. Four guards are called in to assist in moving the Regent Mother.

Ghoral is going to push the button, Kross and Perrol will be steping back. The button is pushed. Something happens, but we do not know what happened. Perrol is playing with the books and the bookcase. Kross is steping back, way back. Perrol found 3 books that are showing magic. Kross is outside the room, to be safe. Kross will come back into the room. They found 4 of the spy devices that was bought from the mages. We leave them there for the Intelligent Division.

After about 10 min, Julienne will walk in with two non-guards which survey the room. The Regent Mother will want to talk to us in a few day. We tell Julienne what happened. A mage is called to have a look at the glyph.

A wizard comes into the room and comes over to Julienne. Ask about the trouble we had, Julienne says that we have it under control. (This is probable the wizard that the Lord Marshall is chummy with.) Julienne does not tell the whole truth about what happened to this mage.

We are escorted out by a guard, he walks with us for a while. He offers to buy us a drink, due to us saving his ass. Gives his name as Paul. Call him if we need some help. We get back to the hotel  and got our drink. We talk about getting rid of the listening device.

Ghoral takes off the device. Jarlyn spots something outside. Wants Kross and Ghoral to stay in the room and talk, while the others go outside by the front door. The others try to capture the guy that was listening in with the device. He bolted and Glaive yells out that he running. Kross will get off two shots of his blunt arrows with two his to the back, which make him stumble a little. Glaive is able to grab his leg, but does not slow him down too much. Perrol missed the grab. Kross fired two more shots with the blunt arrow, one to the sholder and one to the head. He goes down.

Perrol is able to find the earpiece. Jarlyn carries the guy and Kross’ arrows are retrived. Ghoral and Perrol goto the door. Glaive and Jarlyn are in the alley with the guy. Kross is across the street on the building roof opposite the inn. Kross spots some movement on the second floor. Ghoral and Perrol talk to person who answered the door. Seeing the all clear, Kross will come down and find out that the person was part of the town guard. Was using the porch to spy on us. The guy is young and probably a green recruit.

Jarlyn and Kross will head over to the palace to talk to Julienne, while the other stay with the prisoner.

Kross notices that we are being followed (about a half to full block back). A person walking, no weapon out, will notice a sword and dagger scabbard. We continue on. We are taken to see Julienne. As we are on the palace, Kross will notice the guy jump over a section of the wall, also see a guard look that direction and make a note. We are taken to the Lord Marshall’s office, where Julienne is with here two minions and the guy that was following us. Kross will mention “I see that you beat us here.” Julienne will say that she will send someone to pick him up. Ask how they are doing, say they has a Wizard come and gone. He could be outside the city by now. We will ride with the wagon to pick the guy up.

We arrive with the wagon to meet up with the other guys. They say they saw someone else watch them, it was one of Julienne’s people. Was waved over. They take their prisoner and leave.

The night progressed with out any problems.

To deal with a Lord.

We are taken to the lady’s waiting room. We find Julienne there with the Regent awake. The Regent sends the other away (except the Captain of the guards).  We take a seat. She thanks us for getting her on her feet.

Julienne got into the Regent’s room and surprised Bob. He had knocked her out. Julienne had found out that Bob had visited the temple for the post 150 to 200 years (by discription from the temple records).

The Captain asked why we on the grounds. Told that we were summoned by 4 palace guards (maybe on the side of the Lord Marshall).

We are going to pay a visit to the Lord Marshall. Will give Julienne 15 min to get to the Regent’s son. We are talking with the Regent while we wait.

We go. The Regent leads the way with her 8 guards and her Captain, with us behind them.

We see a maid that is Julienne, the Regent nods to her and Julienne leaves.

The Regent has a sturn look on her face and is getting some looks as she goes. Get to the door and open it directly.

The Captain walks in, the Lord Marshall (sitting at the desk) says “What is the meaning of . . . “. The Regent walks in with the guards.  “My Lady, how may I help you?” We knotice he is stressed. We walk in. (There are 6 guards are in and 2 are outside at the door.)

There is some talking between the Lord Marshall and the Regent. The Regent defers to us for what he he had for orginal summoned us for.  There is a slight pause before the Lord Marshall starts talking. ** From Jarlyn does his Detect Evil and see the Lord Marshall is EVIL and there is some evil in the floors below. ** Perrol is talking with the Lord Marshall.

Suddenly there is darkness. (Made my Perception roll.)

* Segment 12 (+1 DCV)
<Darkness> Kross will draw his sword and hold the other half of his action.
<Light> Jarlyn used his light ability to light area. We a Shadow creature like the one we battled in Wickshine.
Glaive attacks.
Kross will move up behind the Shadow creature.
Jarlyn moves. <The Lord Marshall, from his desk, does something and there is a noise at the door.>
Ghoral moves.
The Regent moves behind Jarlyn and says that people with magic weapons attack the creature and those with non-magic weapons get the Lord Marshall.

* Segment 3
The Shadow misses the attack.
Glaive attacks.
Ghoral misses.
The Lord Marshall points and says something, with nothing happening.

* Segment 4 (+1 OCV)
Perrol attacked.
Kross attacked and hit for 8K damage in the arm.
Jarlyn will attacks. The creature screams.
The guards move.

* Segment 6
The Shadow speaks to Jarlyn (Present Attack) and it missed its attack.
Ghoral says that the Lord Marshall is escaping.
Glaive attacks.
Ghoral attacks. The creature wailes.

* Segment 8 (+1 OCV)
Perrol attacks. The creature screams.
Kross misses.
Jarlyn attacked. Hit x2. The creature wailes.

* Segment 9
The Shadow moves over to the Regent Mother and attachs. The Regent Mother goes down.
Glaive attacks. Hit x2. The creature wailes.
Ghoral misses.

* Segment 12 (+1 OCV)
Ghoral blocks the Shadow attack on the Regent Mother.
Glaive attacks. The creature screems. The Shadow screecks, shrinks and now shows the body of the guard from Wickshine.
Perrol and Kross will attack and will bounce off the darkness shield.
Ghoral misses.

Glaive moved.
Ghoral missed the desk.

* Segment 4
Perrol and Kross failed at moving the desk.
Jarlyn will heal the Regent Mother.
Glaive was able to unlock the door.

* Segment 6
There is a woosh, the black curtan drops and Lord Marshall is not there. There are some wisp of black smoke. Perrol see a fading glyph. Is able to tell that has something to do with travel.

The Ambush

Glaive (Janielle), Ghoral (Bill), Jarlyn (Dennis), Perrol (Bob) and Kross (Heath)

We leave the office to look for Julienne.

We exit the castle, we are on the street when the others notice that there is no city guards in the areas we have been walking. Something is not right. Kross hears Perrol shield activates. The streets are thining out. We split the party into 3 and 2 with one on the left side and the other on the right side. With our weapons out, the people are getting nervous. Perrol heard that there are some people a block ahead waiting for a ambush us. On the left, Kross will find a alley and head up to the roof and Perrol will come over to even out the numbers.

We hear “You not going to make it easy for us?” Three guys step out of a alley. (They have swords and have harden leather.) Jarlyn prompts that the others step out. Three others step out from the other alley. They have been hire to take us out.

Glaive moves up and dodges.
<The two alley ways close to use have been blocked large crates.>
Kross will step back and missed his target.
Ghoral moves up.
They move up and 5 more show up behind us.
Jarlyn moves into the right alley (to check it out)and Perrol moves into the left alley.

<”Archers ready!” is called out and the boxies on the foof top explode to show 3 archers on each side. One near Kross.>
Perrol moved

Glaive moves up and dodges.
Ghoral moves up and dodges.
<”Attack Delta” is yealled.>

Perrol moves up and dodges.
Kross jumped over the alley to the other building (for a full move).
Jarlyn did a full move.
<”Archers first. Secondary first.”> The archers turn facing Kross. Total damage was 1 Body and 5 Stun.
(Used 2 Hero Points to move the location from the Head to the Left Hand.)
The 1st group moved up and 3 attacks Ghoral.

* Segment 6
Glaive moves and attacks (misses).
Ghoral attacks and knocks him down.

* Segment 7
Ghoral will abort to dodge.

* Segment 8  (+1 DCV)
Perrol moves to the back of the 1st group.
Kross will move off the roof to get to ground level and move to the rear of the 1st group.
Jarlyn moved
<”Back up, Up back, archers last.”> Leader moves back and dodges. The 1st group is moving out of the way of the archers. They attack with a hits. The 2nd group out of combat runs up.

* Segment 9
Glaive will move over to 2nd group and try to attack 5 of them in a sweep. 4 of the 5 hit, 2 down and 2 damaged.
Perrol does a presents attack.

* Segment 12  (+1 DCV)
Glaive moves and attacks, with 2 hits, 1 down.
Perrol moves and attacks their leader.
Kross will out of combat move along the alley towards the action.
Jarlyn attacks and hits for 1 hit that knocks him down.
Perrol took two solid hits and is dazed.
Glaive took 2 his with no damage.
Ghoral took some damage.
Ghoral missed the attack.

* Segment 3
Glaive will attack the 2 near her with 2 hits.
Ghoral hit the leader and dazed.

* Segment 4  (+1 OCV)
Perrol recovers and gets his sheild up.
Kross gets up to the roof of the other building and hits the leader for 12 stun.
Jarlyn attacks and knocks down one guy.
Leader recovers from being dazed.
Archers made some hits, with some damage on Glaive.

* Segment 6
Glaive will recover.
<The leaders says “If it will save my men, I will surrender if it will save his men.”>

Kross will hold. The others will run away from the battle.

The trouble with the Regent

August 9th - 14th

Character and players in the game tonight:
Glaive (Janielle), Ghoral (Bill), Jarlyn (Dennis), Perrol (Bob) and Kross (Heath)

Over the 3 of the 4 days, Perrol is performing at the bar. The first night he has a ok night. The second night he did not perform that well at all. The third night his performance was one of his best.

On the 4th day (early) our weapons have been enchanted and returned to us.

We go to the palace, as we approach we notice that they are in a higher alert that normal. Guards ask for our name, we say Group 42. We are on the list, but the Regent is not seeing anyone at this time. We ask to see the Major Domo. We are shown to a Waiting Room for the Regent. We wait for about 10 min when he shows up. He ask what is needed. Told that need to tell her some info in person. Told that she has been subscribed bed rest for the rest of the day. She is sick. Perrol was able to tell that the Major Domo is generally afraid (not of us). We are shown out. Julienne (the women that was with the Regent mother) was showing us out, but does not seam to be heading that way. We are taking some stares and back ways. Says 2 days ago she was struck sick. In a coma. Only awake for about a hour a day. She has been looked at by Cleric and the Mages. They worsened the problem. She says that magic items look to also worsened her problem.

We come out of a small hallways to Regent Mother room where four guards are posted. Kross, Glaive and Perrol will remove our magic stuff and pass it to the others. We go into a Wait Room, where we find two more guards. We go thru another set of doors and find more guards at each of the four corners of the room.[note on order as we entered the room: Julienne, Kross, Glaice and Perrol] Kross will notice that the guards do go for their weapons, but do not pull them out.

We see on the bed, a frail looking Regent Mother. Pail, sick and weak looking. Even her hair looks frail. Will find a priest (of Haspis), off to the side, will his supplies on a table. Says this condition is normally related to Mages due to some kind of spell backlash.

Julienne will be meeting us for lunch shortly. We are shown out (nicely) and we head back to the inn.

A merchant looking lady sits down at our table. Its Julienne. Get go to the private meeting room. Perrol leaves the room to investagate and come back with no issues. Kross will search the room with no found issues. After some time to make sure the room is safe to talk. We talk. If a Page named Xavercomes to us, we take him and run away. It would be the Regent Mother’s son. Ghoral uses his boon to ask to help heal the Regent Mother. There was a knock on the door. Its Aldus Mannus. He is dressed in his traveling outfit and was on his way back from destroying the tablets outside town and was suddenly at the door.  He is told of the problem. He suddenly stops, his eyes go white and glows. Its the Sky Father (in human form).

Something from outside of our pantheon is trying to become part of it. (It is the evil that we have encountered.)
Find help from “Those outside this realm.” (Bob and Chad’s name come to mind.)

He closes his eyes. He is himself again. He is weak and has his head on the table resting. His gray hair is now white. Julienne says “You don’t see this everyday”.

We eat and drink our lunch. About half way thru the meal, Aldus lifts his head and asks for food. We finish our meal. Julienne will head back. Ghoral and Jarlyn will take Aldus back to the temple. After they get back, we all go to try to find Chad and Bob. On the way there, Glaive catches small glances of Julienne. We stop and do not see her. We continue to where they are staying. We find Bob. He is not able to help us. We tell Bob that Aldus said to seek those outside this realm. He mumbles in displeasure. Mentioned that the evil ones are outside the pantheon. Bob mumbles that he thought that they were taken care of. He says that he will look into this and says that we will owe him a favor.

We head back to the inn and will watch Perrol playing a good tone.

We set double watches for the night.

Perrol heard someone outside the door. We wake everyone and wait. Jarlyn opens the door, its Julienne. She tells us that at the palace, she heard four thunks, the doctor exits the room and four unconscious bodies are tossed out. The room is shut tight. No one can get into the room. Perrol lets slip Bob’s name. She goes on her way.

We goto the palace. A guard come up to us and said he must delivery us to the capitan. We are taken to the grounds behind the palace. We see the captain. We are questioned about the Regent Mother chamber. Julienne has not shown up from when she talked to us.

We end for the night in the office about to leave.

Dealing with the issues.

August 6th - 7th

Glaive (Janielle), Ghoral (Bill), Jarlyn (Dennis), Perrol (Bob) and Kross (Heath)

Perrol, Ghoral and Jarlyn are in the poition store. Perrol picked up 2 Healing Potions for 1 gold for each.

City Guards enter the potion shop and ask the three some questions.

About 10 min later, two City Guards show up at the alley way. We inform them of what happend. They were looking for up from their talk with the others. They call a third Guard over. We show them them the body, the dagger and tell them, he looks to be from Red Daggers. Ask if the Red Daggers are basaed here? Says they have a base in most or all major cities. They let us go, two Guards will stay with the body, while the third will runs off. (They keep the dagger.)

We will head back to where we were ambushed. Kross will retrive the Crossbow and leather holder that looks like it would hold two arrow and at the end where the arrow point would be, there is a residue.

We meet up with the others and tell them what happend from our end.

Ghoral looks at the crossbow:  Normal Crossbow (dame good sold crossbow)

We head head onto the meetup with the Wizards. We are lead to a building we have not been to before. We meet with Aaron who is the Director os Specal Projects. Meeting with us about the missing soldiers and wizards. Kross will notice a crystal like the ones we have run across. Kross will point out the crystal. Aaron says it records sound and wa actived after he went over our names.

We tell the story of our adventure, leaving out a few parts (about Scrolls and Tablets). Kross will draw out a map of the area and of the temple. Arron will call for a artist, her name is Sara. Aaron offers to purchase the loot we had take from the temple. Look like we will be selling most or all the loot to the wizards for a good deal.

For the Broach, they found the general area and due to the Charter of the Universaty, they could not dig further or tell us the general area. Copy of the Charter in the libary. Says the item has a 10 mile range and give the location, audio and video to the receiver. Arron will apologize for not living up to the agreement and offer a favor in the furture. Says if we will sell the loot, we will nee to contact Hailey (Aaron’s elven assistant).

We goto the libary to have a look at the Universaty’s Charter. Perol review the document. The Charter is thru the local Lord and then thru Lord of Palatineate. It looks it could be the Royal Family, someone employed by them or have day to day contact with them.

We goto the Boar’s Head room. We hear a “Oh Shit” when Perrol is seen from a lady behind the counter. Is asked to not cause any problems. We get a room (2 SP each for the room). We hear some song about Perrol. We head up to our room and have a uneventful night.

We are going to see the Lord Marshall. We are taken to a Study/Libary where we find the Dutches Lusia Meralda (Regent Mother). We show her the introduction letter, where she goes back to her desk, takes out a gem and looks thru the gen at the letter. Smiles and hands back the letter Perrol. Perrol had used his magic site (while she looks at the letter) and finds out the gem is magic, a ring on her finger and a dagger up her sleve.

Said there is tension at the capital. Old Guard vs New Guard on the topic of a King. The Lord Marshall and some other Lords are causing issues.

Currently her son is 12 yrs old, at 16 years old he gains some power of a lord and at 18 yrs old he becomes a full lord.

We tell her that we ran into the Red Daggers. We find out that their headquarters out of Aarn. Rumered to have a chapter house here that specialized in assassination of wizards. If the assasian is killed, the contract would be voided. They would not normally kill themself.

We tell the Dutches about the Broach and how we came across it. She calls for a letter to be drafted to allow the Broach to be further researched for the final location (with the rules of the charter). It will be sent to the Inn.

From the wizard assistant:
