The trouble with the Regent

August 9th - 14th

Over the 3 of the 4 days, Perrol is performing at the bar. The first night he has a ok night. The second night he did not perform that well at all. The third night his performance was one of his best.

On the 4th day (early) our weapons have been enchanted and returned to us.

We go to the palace, as we approach we notice that they are in a higher alert that normal. Guards ask for our name, we say Group 42. We are on the list, but the Regent is not seeing anyone at this time. We ask to see the Major Domo. We are shown to a Waiting Room for the Regent. We wait for about 10 min when he shows up. He ask what is needed. Told that need to tell her some info in person. Told that she has been subscribed bed rest for the rest of the day. She is sick. Perrol was able to tell that the Major Domo is generally afraid (not of us). We are shown out. Julienne (the women that was with the Regent mother) was showing us out, but does not seam to be heading that way. We are taking some stares and back ways. Says 2 days ago she was struck sick. In a coma. Only awake for about a hour a day. She has been looked at by Cleric and the Mages. They worsened the problem. She says that magic items look to also worsened her problem.

We come out of a small hallways to Regent Mother room where four guards are posted. Kross, Glaive and Perrol will remove our magic stuff and pass it to the others. We go into a Wait Room, where we find two more guards. We go thru another set of doors and find more guards at each of the four corners of the room.[note on order as we entered the room: Julienne, Kross, Glaice and Perrol] Kross will notice that the guards do go for their weapons, but do not pull them out.

We see on the bed, a frail looking Regent Mother. Pail, sick and weak looking. Even her hair looks frail. Will find a priest (of Haspis), off to the side, will his supplies on a table. Says this condition is normally related to Mages due to some kind of spell backlash.

Julienne will be meeting us for lunch shortly. We are shown out (nicely) and we head back to the inn.

A merchant looking lady sits down at our table. Its Julienne. Get go to the private meeting room. Perrol leaves the room to investagate and come back with no issues. Kross will search the room with no found issues. After some time to make sure the room is safe to talk. We talk. If a Page named Xavercomes to us, we take him and run away. It would be the Regent Mother’s son. Ghoral uses his boon to ask to help heal the Regent Mother. There was a knock on the door. Its Aldus Mannus. He is dressed in his traveling outfit and was on his way back from destroying the tablets outside town and was suddenly at the door.  He is told of the problem. He suddenly stops, his eyes go white and glows. Its the Sky Father (in human form).

Something from outside of our pantheon is trying to become part of it. (It is the evil that we have encountered.)
Find help from “Those outside this realm.” (Bob and Chad’s name come to mind.)

He closes his eyes. He is himself again. He is weak and has his head on the table resting. His gray hair is now white. Julienne says “You don’t see this everyday”.

We eat and drink our lunch. About half way thru the meal, Aldus lifts his head and asks for food. We finish our meal. Julienne will head back. Ghoral and Jarlyn will take Aldus back to the temple. After they get back, we all go to try to find Chad and Bob. On the way there, Glaive catches small glances of Julienne. We stop and do not see her. We continue to where they are staying. We find Bob. He is not able to help us. We tell Bob that Aldus said to seek those outside this realm. He mumbles in displeasure. Mentioned that the evil ones are outside the pantheon. Bob mumbles that he thought that they were taken care of. He says that he will look into this and says that we will owe him a favor.

We head back to the inn and will watch Perrol playing a good tone.

We set double watches for the night.

Perrol heard someone outside the door. We wake everyone and wait. Jarlyn opens the door, its Julienne. She tells us that at the palace, she heard four thunks, the doctor exits the room and four unconscious bodies are tossed out. The room is shut tight. No one can get into the room. Perrol lets slip Bob’s name. She goes on her way.

We goto the palace. A guard come up to us and said he must delivery us to the capitan. We are taken to the grounds behind the palace. We see the captain. We are questioned about the Regent Mother chamber. Julienne has not shown up from when she talked to us.

We end for the night in the office about to leave.

Running with a pointed weapons.

August 8th - 9th

We head out from the Mage Academy to the place where Chad and Bob are staying. The gates are open. We are shown to the back of the house where a pig is roasting. Way Xin is there, sulking.

Some info we find out from Bob:
North is restless, it that time again.
To the NW, Orcs and Goblins are gathering in the Greyward.
The local Lord Marshal is a asshole
We are the local news.
There are two groups that are after Perrol and one group after us. Its probably the Lord Marshal that put the price on us all, maybe someone in Mage Academy or maybe a corrupted priest. Red Daggers are after after Perrol and a general one on us for a reward.

Will do some training for Kross’ martial arts.

We head back to the inn, set watches and have no problems.

We eat some morning food and head off to the Sky Father Temple for Jarlyn’s meeting. See some what look to well armed paladin guards. We are shown in to the Old Man (Aldus Mannus) from before. We take a seat. They have a ceremony for destroying the tablets. Aldue wanted to reward us, he has a cousin (Aaron, who we met before) who can enchant our weapons (at a discount cost) or some other magic item that might be available.

We are on the way to the Mage Academy, when Ghoral notices something on a wagon. Its some kind of weird weapon. Ghoral will pay 250 gp for his new magic sword. A mace catches Perrol’s eye, but no sale.

We ask about the weapon. Ghoral said the weapon talked to him. Strange. Perrol take the sword and find it some what unbalanced. Glaive holds the sword, goes quiet for a time and passes back to Ghoral not giving much info on what happened to her. We continue onto the Mage Academy.

We see Aaron about the rewards that was pomissed to use. Ghoral finds out that his weapon is a Cat-Lady’s Claw. Kross will choose to have his sword modified, which will take 1 days per weapon for 250gp. They have a Longbow of Far Shooting  (pg 208) for 270gp. Kross will get it. Total: 520gp

Past battle the day.

August 7th - 8th

We finished with the wizard assistant and are heading back to the inn where we find the letter waiting for us.
When looked at will notice the town’s seal in the wax sealing the letter. When Glaive reviews the letter, she will notice that it has been tampered with. Opened and resealed before it arrived here at the inn. It is addressed to “Special Project and investigations”.

Food is eaten and the Bard (Perrol) sings. We are done for the night and set normal watches for the night. The night ends with a normal night.

Perrol will look over the letter for magic. He will notice something. Will compare our introduction letter and the letter from the Regent. The magic is simular to each other.

Will head over to see the wizards. As we are heading there, will hear “My lord . . “ in almost wisper in the shadow in a alley. It is one of the older guys that we hire to scout for before.  Kross will see the other brother at the other end of the alley. Says he has some new that whould be of intrest to our group:

Last week a assiasan (Red Daggers) was hired for Perrol.
The Red Daggers are still looking for us.
Last night. a price has been put on our heads, 10gp each and all of us would have to be presented to get the reward.
About three weeks ago, the fake guards that we took down were killed while escaping.

Perrol will pay him 3 SP for the info.

We make it the rest of the way to the wizards with no other problems. Before we get to the gates, a runnner is seen running in the direction of the Special Project building. Asked to have a seat in the waiting room. A different runner comes back and offers to escort us to the Special Project building. We are escorted to see Arron. We pass the letter to him and tell him that the letter has been opened/tampered with. Arron willl bring out a simular letter and compares them. Tells us that the letter has been opened and read and has not been tampered with. A magic treaded pass is given to Perrol for us to get back on the grounds of the Mage Academy.

Looking for Bezainted Cuir-Bouilli (5 DEF) armor in the market. With Perrol’s help Kross will get the custom armor for 220 sp.

Bob is suddenly there with our group. Jarlyn asked about the disease the wizards died from. He says there was disease that the frozen people had. Bob made sure that we did not get sick (some how). Asks us if we will be staying in town for a while, Kross will state the thing we had to do for the Regent. Bob will pobe us for more info, but due to be out in the open, Kross will say not in this opem fourm. Bob immediately asks us to dinner tonight. We agree. Bob meld into the croud and disapear. The others are able to follow him a little better. Glave finds some daggers and will head back to the inn for lunch.

At the inn, we found a female fresh faced Paladin (Favor of Kilbern) standing around, looks to be waiting for us. She informs us that we are wants at the Sky Father’s temple tomorrow morning.

We have lunch and head back to the Mage Academy, we notice a kid of 18 is moving up to block our path. He is of the family of Xin (the woman that I left and did not marry) and wants to challenges Kross for honor of here sister (that I did not marry).  Kross will say yes and to take it to a place less crowded. A place is not known in the area, the only idea was Bob/Chad’s place (for a fight). We get to the place, find Bob and ask his ok to use the place for settling our dispute. Chad ask the reason for the dispute, before Kross can answer, he calls the kid (Way) over to stand next to Kross. In Thona, we talk. Kross will basicy say that he left home because he did not want to marry Way Xin’s sister. Chad says to (after this) Way that he needs to have a long talk with his uncle. Chad says to procede.

Way hit Kross for 2 stun and Kross will mis the disarm

Kross took a head shot for 15 stun, dazing him and kross will recover from being dazed.

Way hit Kross for 8 stun and 1 body and Kross will miss the attack.

Battle ends. Kross will not kill him (had not planed on it). Bob will heal the kid and we will continue onto the  Mage Academy.

We continue on, show the Pass and see Aaron about what he found out. The device was found out in a field outside town recently and looks to be wiped magicly clean of any traces of the user. There no clues found.

(We are at the Mage Academy deciding were we should go next.)

Issues with what was found.

July 13 - 15

Underground Temple /
Travel back to Tietha

Character and players in the game tonight:
Glaive (Janielle), Ghoral (Bill), Jarlyn (Dennis), Perrol (Bob) and Kross (Heath)

* Segement 1
Ghoral notices that with the tubes cut, the person on the wall is still alive.

* Segement 3
The Shade laftes as he attact Perrol. He is cowed with his DCV set down to Zero and goes down with some damage. Is Dazed.
Glaive attacks the tubes and slices thru them.

* Segement 4
Perrol recoves from being dazed.
Kross did attack with a called shot to the head (of the creature on the wall), choping it off, killing the creature.
The Shade screached and the gem above has dimed.
Ghoral attacked and killed the creature on another wall.
The Shade screached (again), went a little more fuzzy and the gem above has dimed (again).

* Segement 6
The Shade comes up behind Kross (without notice) and attacked with 10 stun and 5 body.
Glaive attacked and killed the creature on another wall.
The Shade screached (again), went a little more fuzzy and the gem above has dimed (again).

* Segement 8
Perrolwill stand up and head to the back of the room and cower there.
Kross did attack with a called shot to the head (of the creature on the wall), choping it off, killing the creature.
The Shade screached (again), went a little more fuzzy and the gem above has dimed (again).
Jarlyn did attack with a called shot to the head (of the creature in the center), choping it off, killing the creature.
The Shade screached (again), fades out all together and the gem above has dimed to a clear gem.

Battle over.

Perrol did a detect magic and find the magic fading from the gem and the fludies on the floor and the tubes.
Ghoral is able to get the now clear gem, down from the ceiling. It is not a gem type that is known.

We head over to the next room.
The room is shaped like the other ones. It has two 9 foot tables and four work benches.
Will see tools, parts, glassware and glassware about the room.
Perrol will open a scoll and look over it. It is in a unknown language. Perrol gets a headache. He states that the drawing are of the trap that we have run across here.
We are talking over what to do with the 20 scolls. Jarlyn will take the basic scroll and we will come back to hide the 19 other scrolls.

We now head over the room in the center. We listen to the door and not hear anything. Perror opens the door. We see a lit room with piles of stuff. Bones, primative weapons, glittering rocks (ore, silver) and necklaces.
The silver ore pile is work 500 gp and is about 200 lbs.

We go back to the room that had the map with minatures. The five minaturesthat were standing around a hexogal building, but now they are down. The could have repesentive of the rooms we went thru earlier.

With Perrol’shelp, we finda place away from the undergroundtemple to safely hide the scrolls that we had found.

 One day has passed when two guys walk out of the woods. The are tall and big. As they get closer, we notice they are Chad and Bob. They are walk andlooking aroundas they head to us. They say they are following the signal of the stake. They knew we were going to find the temple. Says they over heard that we were going. They have a intrest in the evil religne not getting a foothold. Chad says that the tablets that Perrolshould be destroyed. We brought up the scrolls that we found, they were surprised with it and had not seen some of the things that were on it.

They ask for a tour of what we found out below. We look over the Stalagmites room. We goto the Hall of the Acolytes with the frozen parties of people in it. They say that these people are alive in a frozen state. Next we got the Chieftain’s Hall, they look over the destruction. Bob will look to Chad, Chad says he will take care of this. Will go over to the Priest’s Chambers. Chad says he will take care of this one too. Says the bodies that were changed and set up as traps need to be destroyed. The world not ready for it and could unbalance it. We next head over to the Initiation Chambers, then thru the secret passage into the Shrine and the Mechanism Room. Chad says that he will also take care of this. We show then the other chambers. Perrol will tell Bob about the shock from the rod. Asked to show him, but Perrol decline, so Bob uses the rod and tries it himself and gets a shock with no damage.

Will show the runes to them and say that they call any Rock Snakes in the area to this area. Luckily most the Rocks Snakes had been killed off over time.

Chad had held back to take care of the things that need to hidden/destroyed, so no one will find it. Perrol held back with him. Perrol saw Chad take the bodies from the Priest’s Chambers and Chieftain’s Hall and push them into stone. Chad had forgotten the technology and run to get rid of them. Chad runs and ends up running thru a solid wall.

 The book that was a primer for the language that was found on the tablet (like translating it to Latin).

We are heading back to town.

We set watches for the night. On the 2nd watch, some loud rustling is heard. Jarlyn gets the group up and find out its a youngish mage (looks to be only recently out of his apprenticeship) with 3 guards. The mage says that he was sent from the main magecamp several miles from here. When they detected the crystal in the camera device, they sent him out to investigate. He would like us to meet them the next morning to talk about what we found. We say that we can meet them on the trail in the morning as they head toward the site and we head away from it.

Their group left shorly after our group and was held up in a town in the area wait for the signal. There are about 20 in the group and are about 3 miles for the the underground temple.

The next day we meet up with the Mages on their way to the site. We lay out the stuff from the temple. They look over the gems andtell them where we foundit. With the furs, we tell them were found, they took 10 pelts for “historical” significance of the 50 we had. With the tools are looked at and drooled over. We keep the ones we had and Kross will state there were some other like tools there. Kross will had over the crystal camera and head out for the trip back to Tietha.

On the job training.

June 21- July 12

City of Tietha / Travel

Character and players in the game tonight:
Glaive (Janielle), Ghoral (Bill), Jarlyn (Dennis), Perrol (Bob) and Kross (Heath)

We will be spending a week in town before we head out on the job.

Three days into the week, Jarlyn has a meeting with a man of healing. Its “Bob”.

Ghoral has drinks with a giant of guy called Chad.

Kross is walking back to the hotel from the mage acamie. Kross will almost walk into the stomic of a large person. Say Excuies me. He says No problem in my native language. Says we need to talk. Goto to the better part of the town. He pulls out a key and unlocks the gate. Say I would perfer some place more private. He says You would probably not want to. Says I do not know you, he says his name is Chad. We go around the maner house to the back area. Chad falls into the fighting stance of Tran-Dhuk. We spar with light touches instead of doing damage. Chad knows some known moves that Kross knows and some moves that he has not seen. He asks if Kross wanted to have him train him. Kross says he will need to think on it. He says Not another one. (He may be related in some way to Bob.)

Did inform the other of what happened.

Was given a GPS type of device that activates when stacked into the ground to actavate and a boxed devive that records pictures when the lid is removed.

It will take about 2 week (by river and hourses) to get to the area to look for the runiens.

Five days into the week, the mages catches us after the morning meal. Said over a month ago a party of 20 was sent out to a silver mine, which is the area where we will be heading. The mages had created a GPS device for them. Thoren Sommerson had got a local lord to fund the party to goto the silver mine. He went with them. We are able to get a map and note it with the area where the silver mine may be.

Six days into the week. On the way back from the Mage Acadamie, trying to look for Chad. I think I see a face a face in the wall. Will have a good look and find nothing odd about. Kross thinks he sees Bob. Will tell the other about Bob.

We go to the maner house and find it the same place Glaive had spared with. The front gate is not locked. We knock on the front door. No answer and the house is dark. We check the back area. No one there. We are takling about that the gate may be magic and a voice come out from the trees, You could checked it out. Bob come out of the trees. Kross will hear some scraping sound behind hime. He turns around and catches one of his foot comming out of the wall. Will say Chad, there you are.

Glaive says she will train with him, but leaving town soon. She will meet up with Bob early afternoon.

From Cartographer, the known world is possable only 25% of what is acctually out there.

Chad speaks up and ask if Kross is wanting to train. Says yes but have to leave soon. Will meet up with Chad the next morning.

Chad did say he knew my Grandfather.

Its seams strange that the 5 of us would be grouped together as a team. That we have some kind of patrian of some kind. Its odd that Kross’s family is not activaly hunting him down.

7 days into the weeks, Kross will show up in the morning and will teach some of the basics of some of the moves he does not know yet (gives the options to add more moves).

On the 8th day we head to the boat and sail out.

Will get 2 weeks worth of food.

The trip takes one week for the boat trip and one week for the trip over the land.

We approach the area and see signs of carrion beast in the area. We head that way. We look down from a raised area and see a thashed campsite. kross will see that the tracks stop about 100 yards from the stream.  Bodies are found, around 10 bodies layhing.

When getting closer, spot some ship and depreshing: Rock Snakes (large snakes that could shollow a human). See none in the area at this time.

We cross the river. We see about 13 bodies, some have been crushed by a Rock Snake. The other team’s GPS is found. Will the picture device to capture the area.

10 silver found and some flint has been picked up. 

We head up the ramps.

We head up the 2nd ramp.

Some of the hources are spooked. Three A frames are seen over three holls. Kross dismounted off his hourse.

Tracking and Travel

June 21

City of Tietha

Character and players in the game tonight:
Glaive (Janielle), Ghoral (Bill), Jarlyn (Dennis), Perrol (Bob) and Kross (Heath)

Kross noticed the town crest on the sword. It was recalled at last week the town’s armory was raided last week and two guards were killed. Jarlyn and Perrol will be going to the Magistrate office to have a talk with them about the found weapons and 4 people we have tied up.

The leave and come back after about 10 min. They are back due to the magic in the Pen becoming active. Was canceled out due to the mirror. Jarlyn did detect a little evil attached to it. The leave again, with out the Pen.

Kross dragged one of the bodies inside. While dragging the 2nd body, Ghoral shouts that one of them is making a run for the door

A battle begins with Segment 12.

Two of the prisoners (one plus the leader) make a run for the door.
Ghoral yells at the leader, he pauses for a second and Ghoral hits for a solid leg hit. He has a bloody leg.
Kross punched the prisoners as he tried to run past with a max punch damage (30 stun/10 body) to the rear chest. He falls down, knocked out (hear a rib crack).

The battle has ended.

Kross will say “Now I have to drag another body inside”. Will finish the work and head back to the 2nd floor. Will string the bow and set it on the floor next to him.

<The others ran across a group of 5 guards briskly heading towards the warehouse. They head back to the warehouse. Perrol tells our story.>

Glaive greats the group and informs them that there was some trouble. The guards looks inside, one upchucks and the other looks green. The Sargent sends the guards around the place. Jarlyn will decide to heal the leader’s leg (heal 4 body). Two of the bodies and one of the tied up guy are know to be troublemakers.

Sargent and the Lt step near the front door and talk. Glaive will catch half of what they are talking about. Ghoral will yell out, “Is there a reward for these critters?” The Sargent says for the three known, 6 SP. They will send for a meat wagon. Will offer to send a runner with the reward.

We are released. Perrol and Jarlyn will see the guy that was tied up from before. Glaive, Ghoral and Kross will bead back to the Black Boar Inn. Ghoral is directed to the stables to clean up. The other show up shortly.

We are talking to Glaive about what happened to her and the guy that she was with. Said she knew the guy from when she was young and he knew her father. Glaive said she was given a amulet that is not magic, but has been exposed to magic over a long time. Said the guy knows two different magics Ulronai and a unknown magic.

Kross, Perrol and Ghoral will go see Mage Jeremiah and have a look at the Pen. We asked to speak to the mage that we spoke with at the Black Boar Inn. We are escorted to see the mage. The Pin is shown to the mage.

After some review of the item, here is what he found out:

  • Give a location of the wearer.
  • Shows someone what the pin is pointed at.
  • Has a limited range.
  • The item is masked, it was hard to tell the function of the device.

The Pen is sent to to the front gate. The item is expensive to make. He said that a old church site was found in the foothills of the Thurisian Mountains on the Fellburg side.  Wants us to explore this location and wear a similar device to record our progress. Did say two people came into the library to review some historic time periods and this was where they found the info on the church site. The two people were named Ille (father) and Thoren (son) Sommerson. Will state that the necromancer we killed was called Ille. If we do the job, they will track the source of the Pin. Found out that if we do the job, they will do the research on the Pin. If we do the job, they want us to find the location, take images and plant a tracking device. Said they call dibs on any magic or historic  devices found.

Perrol will pay the 5 SP to have the mages hold the Pen device.

- The action turn to the hotel -

We come back and tell the other what we find out about about the Pin and the job. Glaive and Jarlyn tell us that this “Bob” showed up to ask is he would train her in some magic. She decline.

We decide to do the job.
