More background info

Our GM has given us some more back story to work with:

As I mention, you were accused of something that you did not commit.  A different group got turned around and attacked a supply group on the wrong side of the border. You were initially blamed because your group was seen in the area. One of the members of the other group had family members with ties to the court.  Your group was cleared.  Before your group was cleared, public opinion and local politics cause your group to be disbanded and you were asked to leave the service.

Upon leaving the service, you were asked to investigate the problems that have started around Tretha and make sure that everything is safe for Duchess Lusia Meralda, and her son Tovar.  You are now on your way from the capital (over land) to there.

The short story of the background.

Here is the basic background that I came up with for my character Kross, to pass onto the GM to work into the story:

A few years ago Kross left his home city of Utahsa and roamed around. He headed north looking to work on his maps and to survive off the land. During this time Kross witnessed some strange and odd things in the wilds of Mitharia. Reaching water, for the experience and for passage across The Serpentine Sea to the Westerlands, Kross worked on a large ship for some time. Reaching land Kross lost himself to practice his skills for a time.

Some background info on the game

Some game information from the Game Master on the background of the game.

  • You were part of the information gathering/trouble shooting branch of the Lord Palatine Markerric’s forces.  You were a young squad that had only been together for a year or so.
  • You have been recently released from service.  You were released due to political reasons.  You were accused of something that you did not commit.  But, by the time that it was proven false, public opinion had already decided you were guilty.  Also, having an Ulronai in your party did not help.  So blame Glaive.  ;)
  • As an apology, Lord Palatine Markerric has let you keep your current equipment.  In game terms…  All characters can start with 500 SP to buy equipment.  Except for Bob, who only gets 100 SP.  You can keep a max of 1/10th of it in coins.  Fantasy Hero pages 144 to 148 has prices.
  • You were based out of Cyradon, the capital.
