We decide to split and attack from both sides. Glaive and Ghoral will go around to the secret door and the rest of us will go through the D door. As Glaive and Ghoral get to the room by the “Home” room the hear some noise from the main room and then it goes quiet. At the same time, everyone realizes that only Glaive could pick the lock for the D door. Glaive and Ghoral head back and as they round the tunnel, Ghoral notices someone peaking around the corner from the room they left, but it’s dark. We decide to do a frontal assault through the D door. Glaive picks the lock and Ghoral opens the door, thunderstone in hand to toss. It opens to a hexagonal room with wood flooring. In the center is a platform with chains attached; it’s an elevator of some type. About that time, Glaive and Perol hear some shuffling from the tunnel we had used. We get in position to ambush them, hiding behind the tree illusions. Perol sees an Orc peaking around the corner and its eyes seem to get wide when it looks in the direction Glaive is hiding. Perol notices and yells “attack!”, segment 12.
Glaive and Perrol hold. Kross fires an exploding arrow towards the doorway and hits DCV 10 for 4 body and 15 stun. We hear some screeches. Both Jarlyn and Ghoral hold. Three Orcs enter the room through the doorway and then two more behind them with bows. Perrol charges and attacks the guy in front and hits a DCV of 7 - misses. Jarlyn attacks from side and hits DCV of 8 - misses. Glaive attacks from the other side (double attack) and hits DCV of 8, misses, and DCV of 10 for 5 body in the head; he’s dazed. Ghoral moves in beside Glaive. The two archers fire point blanket at Perrol. The first misses and the second hits DCV of 11 (by 5) in chest for 6 body and 18 stun; only 4 body get through. Ghoral notices that these guys are well organized and armored, so not run of the mill. Jarlyn and Perrol are attacked but they miss. Post segment 12 recoveries; the orc that was dazed recovers. Segment three, Glaive does double attack again; hits DCV 14 for 4 body in the head and second one misses. Ghoral attacks and missses. The two archers move out into the tunnel and a “magic looking” guy comes out of the tunnel and attacks Glaive with a flame bolt for 1 body in the arm and 7 stun. Perrol attacks the one in front with DCV 14 in chest for 7 body and 21 stun. Kross throws the tanglefoot bag at the “magic looking” guy but misses. Jarlyn does double attack but misses both times. There is a loud yell and a larger Orc with a big battle axe is next to the front- center Orc and attacks Perrol. Hits DCV of 6 in the head for 4 body and 36 stun; he falls unconscious and his shield goes down. Jarlyn is attacked, but is missed. Glaive is attacked and hit in the head for 6 body and 31 stun and she falls unconscious. The front guy moves out towards Kross and holds. Ghoral hits a DCV of 8 in chest for 6 body and 18 stun. The mage turns and fires at Jarlyn, hits in arm but nothing gets through. Kross moves up to the Orc and hits DCV 8 in the arm for 7 body. I attack and hit DCV 12 in right shoulder for 9 body, he’s stunned, my second hits DCV of 6 for 11 body in the head. The head flies off. My mace is glowing so these are evil beings. Ghoral uses a half move and pours a healing potion down Glaive’s throat, she regains consciousness, and he switches his weapon to cat’s claw. The mage attacks Jarlyn again but misses. The large orc with the battle axe moves to Jarlyn and attacks and hits in the right arm but no damage gets through. The archers move back in and fire at Kross. The first hits DCV of 9 in head for 5 stun and second hits DCV of 14 (by 5) in chest for 3 body and 14 stun. Glaive gets up and attacks the Orc in front of her that’s wobbly, hits in vitals and disembowels the one if front of her. Kross attacks the guy in front of him but misses. Jarlyn double attacks the axe guy, first attack hits DCV 8 and misses and the second hits DCV 11 for 8 body. Ghoral moves around to the front and attacks one of the archers but misses. The leader (axe Orc) attacks Jarlyn and hits in chest for 3 body and 17 stun. The two archers move around to side and attack Ghoral and both miss. The wizard attacks Glaive and hits DCV 10 in the right arm for 3 stun. The last shield guy attacks Kross hits in the thigh but nothing gets through. Glaive moves to the mage and attacks, hits DCV 8 in the arm for 5 body. Ghoral moves to the archers and hits DCV 11 one in the vitals for 11 body. The leader attacks Jarlyn and hits DCV 9 in head but nothing gets through. The mage attacks Glaive and misses. The archer that’s left stand runs out through tunnel. Perrol is now conscious, but can’t act. Kross attacks the guy in front of him hits DCV 7 in the chest for 7 body. Jarlyn attacks the leader but misses on the first try and hits the second with DCV 10 in right leg for 5 body, none gets through. One guy attacks Kross but misses. Glaive does double attack against mage; hits DCV 14 but nothing gets through and second DCV 9 in vitals for 7 body. He appears wobbly and his shield has dropped. Ghoral attacks the wizard and hits DCV 1, misses. Perrol takes a recovery. Kross attacks the orc in front of him, hits DCV 7 in the head 6 body - he drops, but he’s still moving. Jarlyn attacks the mage and hits DCV o f 9 in stomach for 15 body; he drops. Glaive attacks the mage and hits DCV of 12 (by 5) in shoulders for 5 body and he drops. He’s still alive but bleeding. Glaive goes into the hall and finishes off the archer that ran. We search the bodies but they only had their equipment. Perrol does mage sight and finds nothing magical on them. We go around through the secret door to the hexagonal room. We notice bedrolls, backpacks, etc. Perrol does magesight and one of the backpacks has something magic; it’s a book. I do detect evil and find nothing. The book has script on it but we cannot read. We think it’s the mages book of spells. Ghoral does not know how much it’s worth but he does believe it is worth something as a reference. Perrol keeps the book. We find 10 sp. We find a lever on the wall that we think will raise/lower the platform and another lever that will lock the trap door.
