We decide to stay a week and I go to the temple each day to study. On the third day, I see a big commotion and one the guards tells me that “He” is here, but don’t know the name of “He” is. He supposedly can heal “fast”. I search out the guide that I met originally and ask who he is and learn that his name changes all the time, but current name is Mike. I ask if I can meet him and the guide shuffles off, comes back, and says yes. We head back and I hear a small child scream, but do not become enraged. When I get back, I see  the back of a man with his hands on a small child whose finger is regenerating before my eyes. After he’s done he turns around and I realize that it is Bob, the man that has Glaive spooked. I commend him for the work he’s doing and tell him I would like to have a drink with him some time to learn more about what he does. He tells me Glaive really needs to learn her stuff. People will get “riled” because he will only see the poor or children. Speed at which he is healing people is not heard of in this order.

When we eat dinner we relay stories and I tell Glaive about Bob. Apparently Kross and Ghoral both meet the same very large guy named Chad at different times. He offered Kross training and he drank with Ghoral.

At week end on the 5th day, after breakfast on the morning we are to leave, a mage approaches and tells us that there is a “situation” with our trip. Someone had approached a Lord about a month ago about an abandoned silver mine in the same area we are going. An expedition of 20 was sent and they had a similar beacon that we have. The lord was funding the expedition with a large cut from the find. There has been nothing heard from the expedition since it left and there should have been a week or two ago. The young man that approached the Lord was Thorin Somerson, which was one of the guys researching the dead religion (and possibly Ille’s son). The mage asks us to investigate since it involves Thorin.

On sixth day, Kross comes back at end of day and says he saw Bob heading for the same manor that Chad was at. We all decide to go check it out. When we get there and try the gate, it is unlocked. Kross mentions that Chad needed a key when he came. Glaive says it’s the same mansion that Bob brought her to when they first met. We go to front door and knock, but get no answer. Kross suggests we go around back to see if anyone is there and we do. House is dark and it appears no one is there. We are talking about why is the gate unlocked and is it only geared for some people to open and magical. From the trees we hear, “You have someone that can tell”. I yell, come out Bob and he steps out of the trees, mysteriously. Glaive and Kross hear a scraping sound, turn around and see Chad. They both swear on foot looks like it is coming out of the stone. Perrol starts to ask lots of questions. We notice that they look similiar and could be related. Glaive decides to go for training with Bob and Kross will train with Chad tomorrow. I ask to meet Bob on healing and he asks to come in the morning. Then they say it’s time for dinner (alone) and we take off. At conversation over dinner, Ghoral starts discussing how it’s weird how we all ended up together.

My training is disappointing because he cannot teach me. He is not a follower of Hospin; his healing is natural. He does let me know if I want to learn resurrection, I would most likely need to switch emphasis from Kilbern (Skyfather) to Hospin.

On eighth day, we get ready to take off to Fellburg via boat; mages are paying way there and back. We stop in Bridgerton and get two weeks extra rations and a pack mule. As we approach the foothills, we will see off in the distance a couple vultures. We head that way. As come over a ridge, we see a thrashed camp with obvious dead bodies. We head towards it, some of us notice that the majority of the animal tracks stop ~100 yards from the stream. We tie ropes to Perrol and he gets close enough to detect magic on the stream and sees nothing; sees scat by stream. He sees a contraption further downstream, probably for sluicing for silver. We tie the rope on me and I go down and try detect evil; nothing. Perol and I both noticed depressions in the ground. We all start going to the river and Kross notices that the depressions look like Rock Snake markings. These are large constrictors that have been known to eat humans; they are 30 feet long. We go to the camp and find about 13 bodies. We find the homing device, so this is the guys. I perform detect evil and I detect evil from a book in a collapsed tent but the book is not magic. Us our device to take pictures. We collect the equivalent of 50 cp and 5 sp. The sluice is basically destroyed. We find sub-standard weapons. We pick up some flint.

After much debate about the dangers of Rock Snakes and Perrol and Kross trying to argue that we should check someplace else, we decide to head up to the rock wall, up the ramps. 3/4ths of the way up the last of three ramps. Perrols horse gets spooked and he goes back down to the second level and Glaive and my horse get spooked. Glavie, Kross, Perrol, and I get toward the top and see three A-frame winches over holes. I drop a rock down the closest on hole, which is ~16 ft wide, and it’s ~25 ft deep. I look over and see movement from what looks like a rock…..(too be continued).

While investigating the swords, Perrol and Kross notice that the swords are town guard swords. We know that ~one week ago one of the town’s armories was raided, two guards were killed, and some weapons and clothing were stolen. The leader says he had nothing to do with that, right!!!!  Perrol and I go to the magistrate’s office to alert the authorities and the rest stay behind to guard the leader and the other people. Once we are get about a block away, Perrol notices that the broach is “activeated”. Perrol and I decide to head back to the building.

Once we get back, I use my Skyfather’s Eyes to determine that the broach has a faint trace of evil, not that it’s evil but that may have come in contact with it. We give the pin to Glaive and she activates the mirror again and we leave again. In the mean time, Ghoral notices blood coming from under the back door, probably from the two guys we killed out back. Kross goes down and drags the first body in and when he starts to get the second body, two of the prisoners try to bolt, one of which is the leader. Ghoral yells, “They are making a run for it” and then he approaches the leader yells, “don’t make me kill you” and then hits him in the leg and almost chops it off (12 body damage). Kross throws a punch at the other guy in the back, Kross hears a crunch (ribs breaking), and the guy goes down unconcious (hit him for 10 body and 30 stun).

As we are walking down the street we notice that there are five guards walking down the street.  I got a call from work and missed some action. We are leading the guards back to the warehouse when I get back. Glaive opens the door for us and Perrol introduces everyone. She lets us know there was a little bit of trouble while we were gone but Ghoral and Kross “took care of it”. One of the guards throws up when he says the beheaded guy and the other guy almost split in half. They start looking at the prisoners and dead and they don’t recognize them. I notice that the leader may not make it much longer, so I heal him for 4 body so that he can have justice served him. The lieutenant asks each guard to look at the guys faces and they notice that 3 of them (2 dead and 1 tied up) are local guys that have been in minor trouble. No one recognizes the leader.

The lieutenant and sargent step away to discuss but Glaive can read lips and catches half the lieutenant’s conversation. Can tell he says he thinks we are telling the truth, doesn’t want to arrest a member of the Azure Banner, realizes we are more than we appear. Ghoral asks if there is a reward and they tell us 6 sp which will be sent by runner to our Inn. They tell us we can leave. I go to untie the guy that we tied up that was following us but he is gone; Perrol went with me. The other three go back to the inn.

When Ghoral gets back to the Inn, he’s stopped by the Innkeeper who says he can’t enter until he cleans the blood off himself (in the stable trough).  When Perrol and I get back, she looks us over with a critical eye. Perrol gets more information from Glaive about the man that she met in the market. She shows us a pendant which Perrol can tell isn’t magic but it has residue of being near magic and I do detect evil and learn that it’s not evil but it has been around evil before. Perrol, Kross and Ghoral take the pin to the mages; Glaive and I stay behind in the room.

Much is talked about between Perrol, Kross, Ghoral and the mages. They tell us that the pin is a tracking device that can see whatever it’s point at and hear whatever is happening and it transmits it back to a person or object; the mirror only hides that it’s magical not what it does. They offer to learn what it can do and where/who it transmits to, if we go to check out an old church site near Fellburg that they found in some old books. They want us to inspect the site and bring back anything about it and plant a device so an archeological team can come to inspect.

While Glaive and I are in the room playing dice, Bob pops his head in and asks Glaive if she has changed her mind. I just stand there and listen. She talks to him in her native tongue. I ask if I should leave and Glaive says I should stay. When he leaves, he locks the door from the outside. Perrol, Kross, and Ghoral and tell us what they’ve learned and about the proposed job to the town of Fellburg. They tell us that two other people were doing some research on the same time period, which were named Ille (Necromancer) and his son. I tell Perrol of Bob stopping by Perrol asks Glaive what he wanted. She explains he was offerring to teach her something that he shouldn’t know and she is refusing help so far.

We need to decide whether we are going to stay in town for a week or head straight to Fellsburg. If going to Fellsburg, it’s ~3-4 wk trip by land, possibly to some by water to speed up, or possibly ask mages to teleport.
