 Still in the Inn. The bereaved father goes up the stairs of the Inn. Mercenary, Eden, comes over. Tells us that the frogmen from swamps SW of Tietha are attacking some people and he’s contracted by Ille to protect his son. Regals us of his deeds and asks if we have an opening in 3 weeks. Notice that children have a brand on left shoulders. Martin (birdmen) drunkenly walks up stairs. Still downpouring when we go to bed.

While sleeping, Glaive and Perrol, notice a strange smell - spicey and floury, ~4:30 am. Gets stronger and then levels. Little later Glaive hears the kids coming down out of  the attic. About 5 minutes later a loud scream happens and continues. All wake up but me; Glavie wakes me up.

I smell an acrid smell that reminds me of some kind of incense. Glaive runs down and sees three humanoids around the barmaid. Perrol runs down next and notices the three humanoids are the children and they have claws; yells to let us know. Kross grabs bow and gets half way down. I am next, have chainmail shirt and sword and head down. Firs kid claws mother on chest, second hits leg, and third hits the mother in the stomach and disembowels her. Ghoral sees skeletons outside, yells to tell us, and jumps out window. Three skeletons surround Ghoral. After a couple segments, I use turn undead and exorcise the children, which were possessed; they drop unconcious. LOTS of skeletons can be seen outside. Strong smell is upstairs and mumbling from Ille’s room.

Glaive opens door and Eden is guarding Ille, but looks wild-eyed and uncertain. Eden transforms into to a ghoulish looking creature that oozes fear. Darkness spell is cast by Ille. Glaive is hit and stunned. We are on phase 12 and end for the night.

July 3, 2009 - The beginning

We are ready to begin!!! We are starting in Cyradon and travelling to Tietha.

It’s a dark and stormy Starday (Saturday) and getting late in the day. Kross notices the clouds do not look “normal” for this type of climate/area. I notice that the weather does not appear to be created by a weathermance. Glaive hears noises from what appears to be a village through the forest. So we head that way and we find a run-down small village with some abandoned houses.

A boy notices from what appears to be an inn and he invites us in. The boy stables the horses except mine, which I do. Everyone else goes in to the inn. I talk to the boy and learn that the name of the town is Wickshine and his name is Aved.

In the inn, there is a Lady behind the bar, 2 barmaids (young girls), and a table with three men sitting at it, two look like they are trying to stay awake and one is talking. There is a table with two men, fairly old. Third table has two more men talking intensely, they shake hands, and exchange 1 GP. When talking with the barmaid, we learn that tomorrow is Freeday (Sunday).

When we go to get a table, the two guys at the table with three men wave us other.  Perrol learns that the talkative guy, Marten (son of minor Lord) is talking about birds. He is on his way to Tietha too to do research at the wizard library. Other two are brothers (Ditmor and Exter) that are merchants - glassware. Perrol then talks to other two men, Josiah (Cleric of the God of Travelers) and Kurty(grouch),.

Ghoral knew that this town use to be famous for it’s brandy. He speaks with barmaid and learns that the trees stopped producing fruit about 75-100 years ago. Notice mercenary is watching room; appears to be on guard. We hear mercenary regaling about his exploits. Other guy is on his way to Ostmark by way of Tietha to pick up his sons body.
