23/9/2011 ( November - November) VCG
The dread ships approach. With my newfound knowledge of sailing, I realize that the captain is basically preparing for boarding through the bosun. Our ship turns to make for shore, which is still hours to a full day away, but the dread ships will catch us within 45 minutes. The dread ships continue to approach, but due to the captain’s skill, we end up starting to pull away from it. However, our luck doesn’t hold out and they gain on us for a while. The captain announces that these appear to be simple pirates, not sacrifice-ready hunters from Thûn, and that we should prepare for that. Kross tells us that he sees one who looks like a mage standing at the helm of each ship. Suddenly the right opponent fouls one of her sails and fall behind while the left opponent picks up a new breeze.
Segment 12
We are just barely within the range of Kross’ magically enhanced bow. He fires off two shots at one of the mages and drops him. The wind goes out of the sails on that ship. Then the wind goes out of the second ship’s sails as her mage suddenly becomes opaque with what I must assume is a magical armor.
Segment 3
While the ships have gotten closer, Kross is still the only one with an adequate range. He shoots twice at the second mage, this time with his ghostly arrows. They penetrated the obscuring cloud, but did absolutely no damage that we could see.
Segment 4
A lightning bolt come out of the sky and hits Kross in the right hand. His hand is fairly mangled, which detrimental for our crack shot.
Segment 6
Kross fires at that second mage again. The first of the shots impacts the barrier, the second goes through the barrier, hits him in the chest, and causes the barrier to drop.
Segment 8
The obscuring barrier is brought up again.
Segment 9
Kross fires two more shots and brings down the barrier again. He also clips the mage once it falls.
Segment 12
Kross is felled by another lightning bolt and his sent flying across the deck. A cheer goes up from the opposing ship. We finally move within arrow range of most of my party.
Segment 1
I force a healing potion down Kross’ throat. Perrol sets and braces for when he finally is within range. Ghoral who is manning the arbalest takes aim for the mage. His leg has been blown off and he is down with blood loss and shock. Jarlyn heals Kross and he is down but conscious.
Segment 3
Archer’s Bane using up one arrow segment and am now surrounded by a shimmer.
Segment 6
Kross gets up. Ghoral is ready at the arbalest again. He takes aim at the helm of one ship. It is smashed and in all likelihood unable to maneuver.
Segment 9
Ghoral takes another shot. The two opposing ships’ sails drop as they discontinue pursuit.
End Combat
Later the captain approaches us to thank us for our participation in this battle. He asks if we would be willing to be in the forefront of any future battle that may occur. Of course, we would be up for it. The captain cannot give us a discount on our passage, but he refunds any money that we have spent getting training from the crew. The rest of the trip is uneventful.
We land in Brelg. As we are in customs, only Perrol can speak for us because he is the only one who speaks either Tradetongue, Common, or Orcish. We are given a medallion that we can show to anyone and they will hopefully direct us to the inn where we are staying/meeting our intended person. We lead our horses through town, much to the notice of the townsfolk.
9/9/2011 (14 of October - )VCG
For the first time, we need to arrange out own travel arrangements. Asking around in the dock areas, we are directed to a nearby building where the companies specialize in travel to Kumasia. The second person we talk to has a ship that is actually going to Thordar and has space. We make arrangements to carry us and our horses. It will leave 3-7 days from now; they’ll contact us when it is time. We then head out to the booksellers to purchase some study material for our long voyage. Jarlyn and Perrol take point and ask the seller for several different books. They both purchase many books, with Perrol taking the cake. We get notice on the 4th day that we are leaving on the 5th day (11th of October).
Ghoral gets his horse on board easily. It takes a bit more effort for Jarlyn and Perrol but they succeed. Kross and I completely fail and Ghoral has to take our horses and get them settled. We have several gawkers both on the docks and in the hold because of the unusual nature of a dwarf animal handler. We decide to take a cabin for three and then another for two. No one wants a single cabin because there is no one to watch his/her back. We want to split up the orc-haters and the unarmed/improvised combat proficiencies, so I room with Kross and the others room together. As we are unpacking, a crewman comes to inform Perrol that there is a miffed looking lady asking for him. We all assume it is the lady from the dance. He heads on out to talk to her. He comes back and we all leave. I don’t wear armor on board once we are underway. Captain Nathan comes up to us and introduces himself. He is pleased to hear that Perrol is a bard and willing to entertain during the voyage. I ask the captain for permission to learn some sailcraft from the sailors. Surprisingly enough, the captain says that it could be arranged. For the first week, he’ll let me observe the crew from the bridge or the bosun’s level if he has no objections. The bosun will also find someone for me to shadow and learn from for another two weeks.
50 days into our trip, the alarm sounds as two boats approach from Thûn. This is an island realm of evil, sorcerous head-hunters. They worship gods repugnant to all of Amberthel. I’m going to go get my armor on and grab my weapons.
19/8/2011 (14th of October) VCG
This is the day we are to meet with Aldus Manus. However, earlier in the morning, Perrol decides to go to the theatre district to get some materials for disguise. He and Kross are not gone for that long. Quite soon it is time to head out for our meeting at the temple. There are twice the normal number of the Favored of Kilbern outside the gate. Perrol whispers to us that something must be wrong because he’s never seen the guards so nervous.
As we are waiting outside of the office after Matthias told us that Aldus Manus was in another meeting, Perrol suddenly appears to be listening to something. He then tells us we can go in. The door is held open by ‘Bob’ who looks rather furious. I give him the Ulronai equivalent of a bow and saying sensei as I pass him. He very curtly acknowledges my greeting. Aldus Manus is sitting behind his desk and seems exceedingly calm. Tiffany Lan is also in the room and she shows no real emotion in any direction. Ghoral asks what the hell is going on. ‘Bob’ growls in response. We are all invited to sit. Apparently ‘Bob’ is going to attempt to destroy the Big Bad we brought back in our last mission. He doesn’t know if even can be destroyed. He thought that it was safe in its previous location, and it was for 3-4000 years, but is obviously no longer. It will be a large group to travel away from populated areas. Apparently, most of the party that greeted us at our arrival will be traveling with the group. I ask if that includes the Hellreavers and he responds in the affirmative. Aldus Manus asks a favor of Jarlyn, his holy symbol. Since Jarlyn was recently touched by the Skyfather, his holy symbol is infused with more oomph. He is reluctant to give it up, but does surrender it for the greater good. Perrol turns to Tiffany and asks her how she comes to be in such exalted company. She replies back that she and ‘Bob’ go way back and that she has known Aldus Manus for many years. Although she appears mid-twenties, it is obviously that she is more like ‘Bob’ and ‘Chad’ than like us. It turns out that the entire reason for this meeting was to request that holy symbol. Others would like to meet with us, i.e. ‘Bob’ and/or Tiffany. Aldus Manus then turns the floor over to ‘Bob’. He is calling in the favor we owe him. He has a friend who requires an escort to the holy city of the high church. “We are at your service, as always,” Perrol says. It comes out that we have to meet him in Brelg and escort him from there. That is the capital city of the area where the good orcs rule. This is not a problem for me or Jarlyn, but the rest of my party have issues with orcs. We are to meet Glandslag in the Speared Boar Inn where he currently is and will be for the next several weeks. He is on a pilgrimage to Ytheis and we only need to worry about getting him there, not back. Tiffany then dismisses ‘Bob’ and says that she’ll take it from here. She was nominated to bring us gifts in honor of our activities. To the archer she gives a quiver with arrows that will pass through armor. To the outcast in the group, looking at me, she hands over a necklace that will disguise the Ulronai in me for five hours. However, after those five hours the curse will be doubled. For her fan she has a jewelry box that will aid in his study of the magic of music. For Ghoral she gives a kiss on the forehead from both her and her cousin. They start to glow. We realize that she was Lentiphone, the goddess of the arts.
Since he wants to try out his new magical acuity, Perrol heads out to an inn for the night. We accompany him to eat dinner. He uses his magic to get some news out of the crowd.
Before we are to head off for Brelg, the son of the family who take care of this house tells us that we have a visitor in the sitting room. It turns out to be Matthias. He tells us that the mission with the stone has departed. He is also to give the contents of the box he has with him. It is a new holy symbol for Jarlyn. It is the equivalent of the one he gave up, but not recently touched by the Skyfather. We learn from Matthias that he doesn’t expect Aldus Manus to return from this trip to destroy the Big Bad.
12/8/2011 (13th of October) VCG
As we prepare for the special performance at the palace, I realize that the guards will likely not let me carry my stiletto into the hall. It would likely be allowed on a non-Ulronai, but not on me. I had to borrow a knife from Perrol. It is less powerful than my stiletto and not silvered and doesn’t affect desolid. I miss my stiletto (it is well hidden in the house). I’m also wearing my dress, it is heavy so will give a slight bit of protection should someone attack me. However, I’m worried about how it’ll affect movement in a fight. The carriage comes and picks us up, but doesn’t go the same route as the others we can see. After a moment of worry, we end up coming around to the shorter line to get into the door. The foot does, after a small pause, offer me a hand to get out of the carriage. As we enter into the hall, I stay fairly close to the group and Jarlyn in particular. We are given the hairy eyeball as a group, but we are not searched for weapons. I feel that we are more scrutinized for being underdressed. We are not announced into the main hall and do not enter where the nobles are. Perrol is eventually called by a brother to dance with his sister. After he rejoins us, the performance starts. She is absolutely magnificent. Suddenly, she starts singing a song that I realize I’m hearing in Ulronai. This causes a large shock to my system and I jolt in my seat. However, the others do not appear to be confused, they must be hearing something else. After the song is over, we are talking and Perrol bring up that he heard it in his language. It is the same with everyone else. Perrol pipes up that he has heard of something similar in the past, and it is a prodigal talent to be able to sing simultaneously to the heart/native language of the audience. The second set that she sings is the tale of the fall of the Lord of the Graven Spear. This is a very emotional tale for me given that it tells of the fall of the Ulronai. What is of interest to me is that the pair who defeat the LGS is a husband and wife, sun priest and moon priestess, who were taught a move by a stranger that sounds to be Ulronai which was used to defeat the LGS. After the performance, our group heads over to talk to a guard. Later Julienne joins us.
As people start to leave, I notice that I’m not feeling the hostility of the crowd. This is a novel and strange sensation.
We head back to the house for a night of rest.
5/8/2011 (13th of October) VCG
We are debriefed by Julienne once they set us up in a house of our own. It is in a very nice neighborhood not that far from where ‘Bob’ and ‘Chad’ live. She tells us that there have been two assassination attempts on the Mother Regent. Both were magical, although one was likely just to test the strength of the wards. The next day, we go to resupply our rations as well as any magical item we need. As we walk into the potion shop where we had been before, he refuses to sell to those who are unhonorable or their friends. I notice that he is not directed toward me. Jarlyn asks why he would say that he is without honor and is told that Kross is known as one who left his obligations. We notice that this gentleman has features that are slightly reminiscent of Kross’. Perrol attempts to persuade him otherwise, as Kross leaves the shop, without success. We head out to another shop. On the way there, we pass by the hole where Gnorm’s shop once stood. Perrol climbs down into the wreckage, but reemerges shortly. In the next shop there is a middle-aged man and a younger man. The younger of the two raises an eyebrow in my direction but otherwise makes no move in regards to me. Upon inquiry, he does have some smoke-sticks, a healing potion, a dust of imprisonment, and a litmus test for potions. We purchase as a group and I end up with the spare healing potion I wanted as well as the dust of imprisonment. We return to our house, spend the night, and then go to the performance of the up-and-coming bard who was in town.
10/6/2011 (6th of October) VCG
Ghoral volunteer his boon. In typical Ghoral fashion, he asks for strength to bring defeat to our enemies, especially the necromancer. The Skyfather agrees with alacrity, always willing to those who are willing to stand on their own feet and use their own strength. One by one we all start glowing blue; I mean divine power infusing us and radiating out of us.
We run to the edge of the camp. Due to our fairly obvious approach, the camp is in a bit of an uproar. Perrol reports that he hears the entire camp moving around. We are approximately 60m to the large central tent that houses the necromancer; however, there are many small groups of goblins between us and it.
Segment 12
I run forward to the closest group and Attack=Hwidathra with DCV 12 in the stomach for 5 damage. There is a flash of blue around my weapon that reminds me of what happens when Jarlyn hits evil things and the goblin falls to the ground in two pieces. I keep running as part of the attack and start to approach the next group of goblins. There is only one goblin left behind me. Perrol runs forward and completes a spectacularly executed miss. Kross fires an arrow, it falls in a graceful arc, and detonates on the ground near the feet of the orc guards around the tent. Basically, everyone in front of me drops and I didn’t do a thing. Ghoral is going to run to join me and strikes out at the orc I didn’t hit as he passes. He misses it. The enemies from the rest of the camp come around the corner and stop in shock.
Segment 3
I go forward my full move to get closer to the tent. Ghoral does the same.
Segment 4
The three guards who came around the corner split up and two approach Jarlyn and one approaches me. All attempt to hit us and all miss. Another two guards come around the corner and one goes to me and one to Jarlyn. Those who had been staring in shock, turn tail and run.
Segment 6
I decide to attack the two guardsmen in front of me.
Attack=Oruskormaeli with DCV 8 in the right shoulder for 6 damage causing his longsword to drop to the ground.
Attack=Oruskormaeli with DCV and fairly obviously miss.
Perrol comes closer and is nearly able to aide Jarlyn but misses his target. Ghoral is actually able to reach one of the guards near me and neatly cuts him in half.
Segment 8
More goblins come around the corner and keep running. I see three transparent, shadowy things come out of the tent. They approach Jarlyn and Perrol.
Segment 9
Half-move to stand next to Jarlyn and attack one of the shadows targeting him.
Attack=Orushidaila with DCV 8 for 2 damage
Attack=Orushidaila with DCV 5 and miss
Ghoral takes out the last standing orc, the one whose shoulder I’d wounded earlier.
Segment 12
Attack=Oruskormaeli with DCV 9 for 10 damage, it wails
Attack=Oruskormaeli with DCV 4 and miss
Perrol once again strikes out at the ghost in front of him. To my eyes, it is starting to look very tattered. Kross fires at the tent opening. Jarlyn manages to destroy his ghost with only two blows. One of the fallen goblins from Kross’ exploding arrow gets up and bolts away. Then, the most musclebound orc I’ve ever seen emerges from the tent. He says that we will feel the wrath of Sun-Crag.
Segment 3
Attack=Oruskormaeli with DCV 6 and miss the ghost.
Perrol takes another swing at the ghost in front of him and also misses. Ghoral tries to move to the huge orc and bounces off of an invisible wall. He then attacks that. The huge orc moves forward and strikes out at Ghoral, slicing through the shield as if it didn’t exist, and misses.
Segment 4
Jarlyn misses the ghost in front of me but kills the one in front of Perrol. The last remaining ghost misses me.
Segment 6
Attack=Oruskormaeli with DCV 8 for 9 damage and it squeals and goes away.
Ghoral taunts Sun-Crag into emerging from behind the shield. Perrol then yells that bones are rising in the direction of the campfires. Perrol and Ghoral and Kross team up on Sun-Crag and kill him.
Segment 8
Jarlyn hits the shield twice and there appears to be no affect.
Segment 9
I suppose that I’ll attempt to smash the shield.
Attack=Orunatiya with DCV 16 for 9 damage, Perrol reports that something happened
Attack=Orunatiya with DCV 10 for 7 damage, we are making it weaker by attacking
Perrol also reports that he had been hearing muffled chanting from inside the tent this whole time, and it stopped when the bones started rising.
Segment 12
Attack=Orunatiya with DCV 14 for 9 (max) damage.
Kross moves up closer to the group. Ghoral and Jarlyn both hit the shield. Jarlyn even tells the rest of us that he’s feeling increasing weakness in the shield. The tent flap is thrown back and a human in a dark cowl emerges. He looks familiar to me and could even be the Lord Marshall. He points out at Ghoral and a flash of green light fires from his finger and misses.
Segment 3
Attack=Oruskormaeli with DCV 14 for 12 (max) damage, I see large cracks in the red
Ghoral whacks at the shield.
Segment 4
Kross fires two arrows. Jarlyn wails on it and the spiderweb of cracks appears again and only slowly seals again. Perrol releases a spell from his lute and causes the shield to completely fall.
Segment 6
We team up. Ghoral hits and removes his left arm. Attack=Orunatiya with DCV 6 int he chest for 7 damage, creating a gaping wound. Perrol follows up with a final blow.
Having taken out both the demigod of a leader and the necromancer, the rest of the orc army is in a full retreat.
End Combat
We eventually get the BAD THING out from under the chapel floor. Jarlyn is now responsible for it by order of his God. We signal the supply boat that we are ready to go pick us up and take us to Tietha. We are met by a warship and escorted for the last little bit of the trip. Aldus Mannus, a variety of other high holy people, a could of Hell-Reavers and Julienne meet us at the docks. There are many debates around how to handle this BAD THING. It turns out to be a high priest’s altar of a red god from around the time of the Lord of the Graven Spear. We are quietly given a choice of reward from Aldus Mannus.
20/5/2011 (6th of October) VCG
Noon of the next day we are approached by a lieutenant who says that the lord would like to speak with us. As we are havingTwo orcs come forward and threaten the castle with a siege. Kross fires and kills the two as they are returning to the orc army. We return to the lord’s office to speak with him more. During the conversation, Perrol suddenly tells Kross to duck and draws his sword to lunge. He also tells us that there is a ghost behind Kross.
Segment 12
As I’m next to Kross I’m going to attack the area behind him rather blindly.
Attack=Orunatiya with DCV 9 (targetless not factored in) for 5 damage. There is a wail behind him.
Kross does not manage to get away. The rest of the party try and attack the space there. Perrol does hit.
The lord and the guard draw swords.
Segment 1
Kross tries to dive away.
Segment 3
Attack=Orunatiya with DCV 9 for 4 damage
Attack=Orunatiya with DCV 9 for 3 damage
The others manage to finish it off.
End Combat
After much discussion about the helpless nature of our current situation, Jarlyn goes off to pray for guidance. We end up deciding that we’ll take the horses away from the keep in a rather obvious fashion. Once under the cover of the forest, we’ll make our way around and end up behind the orc camp. After we are there, we’ll use a boon from the Skyfather to wreak disaster on them. We end up meeting a fairly unintelligent orc from Bern’s contingent. He is no real help and we continue on. We are not in position and start to debate who is going to use his/her boon and will say what.
13/5/2011 (5th of October) VCG
We are called into the Lord’s public room. He tells us how the supply ship has been spotted and that he would be grateful if we would go and retrieve the supplies. We give them what arrows and bolts we can survive without. Additionally, we are given three fairly green recruits to man the oars. All of us head down the walls and get into the boats. As we pull out toward the supply ship, I notice that there is a flicker of fire on the deck. As we get closer Kross says that he sees fighting and eventually I make out movement on deck. Kross fires off several arrows. We get ourselves up onto the deck of the boat.
Segment 12
Half move to get next to orcs.
Attack=Orushidaila with DCV 6 hits in the chest for 6 damage and he drops
Attack=Orushidaila with DCV 10 in the thigh for 7 damage causing a deep, puncture wound that basically disabled that leg
The others are equally good at dispatching their opponents. Kross yells that some of the orc firestarters are headed down to the hold.
Segment 3
Attack=Orushidaila with DCV 7 in the thighs for 2 blooding him slightly. I then go to attack him again.
Attack=Orushidaila with DCV 6 in the vitals for 3 damage, which is still not much damage.
Segment 4
Kross hits several of the orcs. We are aiming for the orcs trying to light the hold on fire. We get the rookies to go down into the hold following them.
Segment 6
Attack=Orushidaila with DCV 11 in the chest for 5 damage
Attack=Orushidaila with DCV 14 in the vitals for 7 damage, felling him
Segment 8
Kross fires at what orcs he can. Jarlyn, wreathed in his aura, approaches an entrance to the hold and attacks the orcs there.
Segment 9
I decide that my two marines can take care of this last orc here and make a half-move to get near the hold entrance that is currently undefended. I attack the two orcs there. They have both already taken damage.
Attack=Orushidaila with DCV 15 in the kidney for max damage
Attack=Orushidaila with DCV 10 in the stomach for 4 damage
This kills both of them, leaving no orcs at this hold entrance.
Perrol takes out the orc that I had abandoned to my two marines. Ghoral finally kills the orc he’d been taking potshots at this entire time. The crew of the boat manages to get the fire under controls.
end combat
Of the fallen marines, only one is still alive. Jarlyn heals him. While the first mate died, the captain is still alive and able to function after a bit of healing from Jarlyn. After discussion with the captain, it is decided that we are going to take the military supplies as well as 3 weeks worth of food to resupply the keep. The supply ship is going to stay, farther out to sea beyond the reach of orc rafts, for several days so that we can use it to travel back to Tietha with the big bad. We head back to the keep. As we approach, there is the smell of burning flesh and we notice that the men on the walls are carrying spears not bows and are covered in bandages. It seems as if there has been another orc attack and that they are now burning the bodies of the fallen orcs.
6/5/2011 (5th of October) VCG
I’m still feeling dazed, but I should be able to shake it off soon. Through the circling stars I notice that there are still 10 zombies of various races around me.
Segment 3
I recover from being dazed. Ghoral misses a zombie right near him.
Segment 4
Kross remains above and shoots the undead near the guardsmen. A wave of holy magic emanates from Jarlyn and several of the undead turn to try and get away. The nearby guardsmen then take out one of the fleeing zombies.
Segment 6
Attack=Oruskormaeli with DCV 2 for 10 damage destroying the last remaining undead in range. Perrol moves to join several guardsmen, one of whom is down. Aiming at one of the zombies attacking them, he hits but his target doesn’t fall. Ghoral takes out one of the two in front of him. Jarlyn suddenly yells out that the second troll is back. Several of the zombies turn and attack Perrol.
Segment 8
Kross fires at the undead troll on fire before it can toss another zombie over the wall. Another wave of holy magic emanates from Jarlyn. Two more were thrown over the wall. A guard manages to behead a zombie and two more guards pair up to take out another undead. Kross yells that there is an incoming troll. Ghoral dives out of the way and the troll lands badly, damaging one leg.
Segment 9
Half-move to get next to the fallen zombie not near the troll.
Attack=Oruskormaeli with DCV 9 for 7 damage
Attack=Oruskormaeli with DCV 5 for 7 damage causing it to stop moving.
Perrol strikes again at the same zombie and kills it.
Segment 12
Half-move to join the three guardsmen who have been unsuccessfully facing two zombies.
Attack=Oruskormaeli with DCV 12 for max damage, completely destroying my target
Attack=Oruskormaeli with DCV 4 and miss
Perrol strikes out but doesn’t fell his opponent. I see Kross fire out over the walls and assume that he is firing at the outside troll. Ghoral whacks the troll and kills it, again. The guardsmen other than those near me appear to be effective. In fact, one of those near me is clawed pretty badly by the remaining zombie in front of us.
Segment 3
Attack=Oruskormaeli with DCV 4 and miss.
Segment 6
Attack=Oruskormaeli with DCV 8 for 8 damage and he is gone.
Four more zombies get chucked over the wall.
Segment 8
Kross continues firing over our heads. I hear a “Woohoo!” from him and would assume that the troll is now dead. My comrades and the guardsmen take care of the rest of the undead in the courtyard. There are still perhaps four outside the walls, but they are unable to get inside the walls.
End Combat
Kross calls for Ghoral to join him on the wall to scout for returning undead. Jarlyn goes around healing the two guardsmen who are still alive, three didn’t make it. Then he comes over and heals me. As Jarlyn is praying over me, the lord comes in fully armored with sword drawn. Out of the corner of my eye, I see a flash of green around Ghoral accompanied by a stinging noise. Perrol yells out that Ghoral has been hit and to get him down. Going to tackle Ghoral, Kross is narrowly missed by another green bolt.
We pass a very uneasy night. As day breaks we notice that around a quarter of the occupants of the camps have deserted. Generally we spend all day resting and digging down to the big bad. Personally, I spend most of the day cutting and carving one of my arrow shafts into two segments for use in my Archer’s Bane Spell. I can make three segments per normal arrow shaft, but I failed my Talacoriom on the first of the three segments.
As dusk falls, Ghoral, Perrol and myself are up on the walls and see a fire arrow shoot straight up in the air far out to see. The guardsman who sees this says, “Hot Damn!” and runs off. Perrol passes on to us that he heard that guardsman say to his superior that the signal for the supply ship has been seen.
8/4/2011 (4-5th October) VCG
Perrol yells that all of the trolls are dead. Scanning the wreckage of the enemy encampments, I see an orc from one of the camps come and check on a troll. He makes a beckoning gesture at his fellows. Apparently Jarlyn sees what I see and then yells back to Perrol that at least one troll is likely still alive no matter what he thinks he saw. Kross starts firing again, hitting the head multiple times. After a while, he has done enough damage that it is certainly dead, part of its head has caved in. Those investigating it scattered as the arrows started to fall. Kross then starts shooting the siege engines and towers.
We consider ourselves finished with the enemy for the moment and turn to digging through to the bad/evil below the chapel. At night, we retire with Jarlyn who can detect evil, Perrol who sees magic, and Ghoral with his night vision as a rotating watch. Suddenly, I’m woken from a sleep by a guardsman pounding on the door. Given that I sleep in my armor and near my weapons, it is fairly quick for me to get prepared and out the door. I see that there are enemies in the courtyard below. I’m told that they are being tossed over the wall by undead trolls.
Segment 12
I jump over the wall and swoop down like a valkyrie into the courtyard. No one else joins me at the moment, but I see arrows flying from those above over the wall and to the outside. More undead goblins and orcs are tossed over the wall. Guardsmen start streaming out of the barracks and then recoiling at the undead.
Segment 3
I finish my landing right next to an undead orc.
Attack=Orushidaila with DCV 12 in the stomach for 4 damage
Attack=Orushidaila (botch saved by 2 hero points) causing me to miss
I see a torch fly over the wall toward the exterior. Also, I feel a wave of holy magic and assume it emanated from Jarlyn.
Segment 6
Attack=Orushidaila with DCV 12 in shoulder for 5 damage
Attack=Orushidaila with DCV 9 in the shoulder for 3 damage but mostly bounces off
Segment 9
Attack=Oruskormaeli with DCV 4 in the chest for 3 damage
Attack=Oruskormaeli with DCV 13 in the shoulder for 12(max) damage and it crumples to the ground.
Segment 12
Attack=Oruskormaeli with DCV 8 in the thighs for 7 cutting off one leg and causing him to fall to the ground but he is still capable of attacking
Attack=Oruskormaeli with DCV 6 in the chest for 6
The undead on the ground strikes out and manages to hit me. However, the one standing in front of my takes a massive strike at my chest dazing me and knocking me silly.
post segment 12 recovery I’m at 4 Stun, 7 Body, and 26 Endurance
