Segment 3
Ghoral yells out that although the tubes have been cut, the body near him is still alive.
The wraith reaches out a hand toward Perrol as he emits a menacing, creepy laugh. Perrol cows in terror and is getting a grayish pallor to his skin. He voluntarily collapses to avoid more attacks.
Attack=Orunatiya with DCV 5 for 7 damage and slice cleanly through all tubes. The wraith gives another one of his screeching roars and turns towards me.
Segment 4
Perrol seems to be a little less dazed looking. Kross rips open the throat of the zombie in front of him and manages to cut the entire head off. The wraith lets out another screech. Jarlyn yells out that the gem in the ceiling has dimmed and the wraith has become a bit more insubstantial. Jarlyn yells out, “In the name of the Skyfather I banish thee!” A light expands out from his holy instrument and there is no perceivable effect. Ghoral crushes the throat of the zombie in front of him and the wraith lets out another scream.

Segment 6
The wraith crosses the room and reaches into the lower back of Kross. He lets out a pitiful yell.
Attack=Orunatiya with DCV 10 and slice through the neck. I hear a screech from the wraith.

Segment 8
Kross crosses the room to get to the last wall zombie. He manages to slice its head off. Jarlyn moves out of the doorway to the central zombie and twacks it in the head as well, killing it.

End Combat

Perrol recovers from being cowed. He tells all of us that there is magic in the tubes and in the liquids and gas both in the tubes and on the floor. I make a concerted effort not to step in any more of it on the floor.

We continue our counterclockwise exploration to the next chamber. In the pentagonal room in the center of that chamber are two autopsy tables with a sharp knife and a saw, four work benches with just some tools and containers of liquid and general storage bins. Perrol starts to investigate. When he sees some scrolls, his curiousity gets the better of him and he has to take them down and glance through them. Suddenly he gasps in pain and grasps his head. Through the obvious headache pain he tells us that the picture he had seen were images of what we’ve been facing down here. Also, right as he started to get the headache the pictures seemed weird, more real than reality. Jarlyn meanwhile is examining the bins and glass jars throughout the room. They appear similar to the gears and liquids we’ve seen in our previous encounters. Jarlyn and Perrol start to discuss the future of these scrolls. Perrol is interested in preserving the knowledge. Jarlyn is worried that while they are not evil the knowledge in them was used for evil and may be in the future. Ghoral pipes up that these scrolls could be valuable and therefore should be saved. At the end, we decide to hide them and then take one back to the temple of the Skyfather for evaluation. I take one of the scalpels since it is made of a material none of us have ever seen. We pocket the other scalpel and the two amputation saws.

All that is left is to enter the pentagonal room in the central chamber. Perrol uses his rapier to open the door, it slides open. The room is lit and littered with piles and heaps of junk. The junk contains primitive weapons, statuettes, jewelry, bones, small glittering rocksetc. Perrol says that he sees no magic. Jarlyn detects no evil. This room is basically a bust.

We decide to go back to the first pentagonal room with the landscape table. Those five humanoid representations that were upright have now fallen on their sides as well. Perrol decides to touch one of those, and this time feels nothing. We decide to head on up to the top, pull up the loot, and wait for the mages to arrive.

After three days “Chad” and “Bob” stroll out of the woods. They walk up and say, “Hey.” I go and sit to the side to observe and think through this new event. The others ask what they are doing here and they say that they are following the spike. We ask why and they say that they knew we would be by the chapel. We ask how they knew that and they respond, “That is what you were tasked with is it not?” When asked why they are interested in the chapel and the religion, they say that they also want to see this religion stay dead. “Chad” also says that he knows that the tablets in the pack should be destroyed. My groupmates also ask them about the scrolls. “Bob” says that he is not familiar with the mathematical theories here, but that they in themselves are not really bad. They then ask for a tour of the belowground area. As we enter the stalagmite and stalactite room “Bob” asks me if I’ve been doing my breathing and centering exercises to which I reply that I have been especially when we were on the way here and not doing much. As we enter the popsicle room, they comment that they have live ones and turn to Jarlyn saying that this will be a matter for his order. These creatures are evil, but they are the last of their kind so to kill them is genocide. We go through the pyramid chamber to the cheiftain’s room. On our way back out “Chad” makes a comment that this’ll have to be taken care of and that he’ll probably do it. In the priest’s chamber, my groupmates explain that there were some traps (wires connected to the priest that have not been severed) that have not sprung. “Chad” once again makes a comment that he’ll take care of this as well. Jarlyn turns to him and asks what he means by that, to which “Chad” responds that these items need to disappear. They explain that this technology is too dangerous for the mages to have. A picture is fine, but they do not need to have an example to study. We take them to the initiation chambers and tell them about Perrol’s experience. We take them to the main room where Jarlyn bashed the evil machine. Again, “Chad” groans that he’ll have to take care of this one too. They are not impressed by the landscape table room. They definitely feel that we need to hide the tablets before the mages arrive the next day. I ask if my mirror would help. He says that it would help some aspects but not all. In the zombie room, they ask if there was something in the ceiling. We respond that there was a gem, but we removed it. They’ve never seen any creatures like these. As for the liquids, they could be some form of alchemy. They’ve never seen anything like this and think that it is rather cool. “Bob” is still talking a bit, but “Chad” has been overcome by his curiousity and is taking a knife and digging around in one of the bodies where the tubes connect in. Then Perrol mentions the lightening/electricity when he depressed both sides of the door, “Bob” looks interested. We end up trooping outside where he ends up trying it for himself. He has to go back into the room to get “Chad” out of the body he’s immersed in. “Chad” comments as to how cool it was with each tube going to a different part of the body. In the morgue, they just comment how they don’t have to destroy everything, they could just take it apart and put the parts in here with the rest of the parts. They were not interested in the junk room. We all retire above ground. However, “Chad” stays behind to disappear stuff with Perrols following him. Jarlyn shows “Bob” the book that we found in the satchel when we first found the camp. He seems very suprised by it. It turns out that the book is a primer to translate the sigil/language of the ancient religion to the equivalent of Latin.

We decide to head back to Tietha. Unfortunately, “Bob” and “Chad” are unable to carry/dispose of the tablets that really need to stay out of the mages hands. Into second watch, I get woken up by Jarlyn who was on watch. He heard rustling in the wood. Suddenly, we hear, “Ho the camp!” Kross demands that they state their business. It appears to be a youngish mage only recently out of his apprenticeship. He says that he was sent from the main mage camp several miles from here. When they detected the crystal in the camera device, they sent him out to investigate. He would like us to meet them the next morning to talk about what we found. We say that we can meet them on the trail in the morning as they head toward the site and we head away from it. Ghoral hides the tablets who knows where so that the mages cannot find it. The next morning the mages ask to see what if anything we took from the temple. They examine it for magic. One of the younger mages is recording the inventory and where we said they were from. When it comes to the furs, they take about ten as examples of unknown animal origin. They also keep the large gem since it might have been used as a focus. If it turns out to be not of a magical use, we can get it again in Tietha. I also show them the scalpels and bone saws; we are allowed to keep them. I warn them to beware of rock snakes. We give them the camera crystal. They dismiss us and we go on our way.

End Combat

Jarlyn walks over and forces a healing potion down Ghoral’s throat. Eventually he wakes up. We decide to take the protrusions off of the side of one of the robots thinking that they might come in handy. Perrol decides that we need to explore more. I stick with him. We find that the end of this circular room in another identical to it only larger. From what we can see there are secondary rooms of identical shape to the left and right of this larger room. There are also the pentagonal shapes in the center of each circular room. On the back side of the original pentagon there is a door with two depressions on either side of it. The right depression is about 6 inches deep and resembles the hole that I had to use my rapier to open back in the light rooms. The left one matches the protrusion we took off of the robot. Being obviously led by his curiousity, Perrol uses his rapier in the right hole. It opens up into a very interesting room. There is a table with a diorama on it and five slightly larger than human sized chairs. The diorama depicts a landscape with many large buildings and lots of small rocks in vaguely humanoid form. Only five of them are standing. When he uses his magesight, Perrol notices that of the entire table only those five upright stones are magic. Of course, Perrol reaches over to touch one of those upright figures. He exclaims that he can feel someone else’s mind and pulls his hand away. It topples over and then rights itself with no help from anyone. We are hesitant to try the left opening of the door or to mess with the figures again. We continue around to the right secondary room. Its pentagon room door is facing the large central fore chamber. Once we open it we see what appear to be pews and a rusty colored altar in the front. The walls have embossed demonized faces coming out of each wall. They appear to be the large headed figures only with a forehead eye, fangs, pointed chins, and glaring eyes. Jarlyn does a detect evil and comes up with some evil on the lectern behind the altar. He approaches it and sees some bronze tablets/leaflets that just exude evil. Both Jarlyn and Perrol wish to look at the writing and see if it was similar to what has been seen. They notice it is the same as the writing we’ve seen previously on the coins, brick, paper, etc. Jarlyn wraps up the book so that it can be transported and destroyed. We decide to continue on in our counter-clockwise direction of exploration before tackling the central room. In the back room Perrol shouts out, “Zombies!” He sees a zombie in a chair in the center of the room as well as four others along the walls. Each of them is restrained with copper bands and has five clear tubes leading into it. Contained in individual tubes is a blue, yellow, brown, blue-green liquid and a grayish vapor. In the ceiling there is a black gem containing five lights that start to circle one another. They merge together and then shoot out of the gem with each one touching a head of one of the zombies before returning to the gem. Then a black mist seeps from the gem and ends up coalescing into a figure shaped like the zombies. By the by, the zombies appear to resemble more the tall-headed figures than the blue humanoids. There is magic everywhere. Each of the zombies have some emanations of evil but the black figure is a concentration of evil. Perrol freaks out and tries to close the door by simultaneously using his rapier to push the right button and the robot part to fill the plug on the left. Lightening comes out and flares all around the edges of his magical shield. He is just fine, but this serves to really freak me out. My people, as annoying as they might be, are not supposed to get hurt by random acts of stupidity.

Segment 12
Perrol moves into the room and cuts completely through the tubes of one of the bodies. Suddenly the wraith screams and heads for Perrol with an absolutely horrific draining strike. Then blackness appears in front of me. Kross plunges into the darkness and then I hear another scream from the wraith. Jarlyn starts to pray and suddenly we can see at least for a radius 4 around Jarlyn. We see Kross next to another body with its tubes severed. Ghoral attempts to hit the wraith and his battle axe passes right through it. After seeing that, I decide to run across the room and position myself in front of another body so that I can attack it on my next turn.
